Yes he didn't look fully fit but in big games they are the risks you take. I'm sure mags isn't fully fit either.
I remember Leeds doing playing a unfit senior in a big final.
Sometimes it comes off sometimes it doesnt

| I think the 5 mins before half time were he made a poor pass to Hall and then next time the ball went to Ablett he dropped it cost him MoM

| Kevin Sinfield the man of the match for me. When he covered for Hardaker and then went on to score a try kept us in the game. For me Sir Kev the laid the platform for a great victory.

| Agree with all that's stated here....Sinfield deserved it, but Ablett was much closer to winning the MOM than any other. Great centre play displayed.
Lunt deserves a special mention too: contrary to the Southstander report it was his delayed pass (not one from Hardaker) that created the crucial Ablett try.
I predict Lunt will be a Leeds player next season: McShane will be moved on.

| Thought Able was very strong. Is a yard of pace short of being a world class centre. Vastly underrated
Riley was good for wire. Got through loads of work and was very dangerous

Agree regarding Lunt pleased for him wasn't wanted by his current club and proved them wrong. I think his defence has been great and that was pointed out as his weakness by some hudds fans
He also created history the only hudds player to win a major trophy!!

| Sinny was a well deserved MoM but I kinda expect of Sir Kev these days. I know I shouldn't but it's so rare that we see a howler from him I tend to take his performances for granted.
Ablett put so much work in last night and took a bit of punishment from Briers without losing his cool. One of those players, like JJB, that puts in the hard work and without him would be a much softer team.

| For a very long time now I've said to my friends etc that Carl is somewhat of an unsung hero. And yesterday he proved his worth to me. Never took a backward step all night and thoroughly deserved his try. Nice work pal.

That's what I liked. He didn't lose his cool when he was coping the high shots. Scored the try then celebrated accordingly

The most underrated player in SL in my opinion..........played out of position for the vast majority of the season and done a great job. Solid as they come.

Not seen Carl have a bad game for a long time now. Dependable is certainly a word that suits him perfectly.......I'd say he's come on in a similar way that Westwood has and is now likely to get a bit more credit which he certainly deserves

I would find it hard to disagree on the evidence of the play off series.
Atkins is the obvious one who would challenge him and does have more pace but i would say Ablett is more sound in his defensive work.Atkins has more strike in him than i suppose Ablett ever will but when you have a winger outside you in the mould of Ryan Hall begging to be fed then his ability to create a yard of space and to offload in the tackle means the lack of a yard of pace can be over looked.(Matt Gidley was never the quickest but how many of his wingers trys were down to his creativity?)
Before the playoffs i wasn't fully sold on the idea, but now I hope we stick with him as our LC for next season, as it does not appear that we are going to get anyone who is going to be a marked improvment on Carl. so lets show some faith in him and let the partnership with Hall flourish.

Indeed you did. Personally before the season wanted him to be the LF, but he has impressed me all year when he has played centre and think he is very good at the one thing I want a centre to do which is tee up his winger, and be solid in defence
