| MacD has no idea. Never mind the injuries etc. that side was good enough to win the game. The fact that Bailey was the best forward says it all

| The half-time coverage of the dressing room doesnt seem to be doing him any favours at the moment.
It could just be bad timing but it looked like it was Lowes delivering the half-time team talk.

| Enough is enough.
The failed Quins Coach and the failed Wire Coach we have in charge. I didn’t support their appointment, but like all Leeds coaches I wished them every success. However, after one third of the season, early I know, I have seen enough.
They obviously have an instruction to change the playing style but these guys don’t appear to be the ones to deliver it.
What actually is the game plan? Does anyone know? I’m not sure the players understand it either and I think that is the root cause of so many daft passes and errors. There does not appear to be any simple rules on exit sets, allowing scope for stupid offloads. (see Senior today). In fact the offload errors, bad pass selection, have been evident every week. Why aren’t the coaches working on this? If they are it isn’t having any effect.
Has the concept of building pressure been abandoned completely? It certainly looks like it. Repeat sets and penalties create tries. We do not appear to consider these concepts in our “game plan”.
Burrow is a wasted resource without runners in motion, so why aren’t there any runners in motion for him? Are we really to believe that back rowers and centres are sent out with clear instructions of what lines to run and are consistently ignoring them? Or do they not know where to stand/run because its all left to make it up as we go along.
When we do attempt to put on planned moves why are so many breaking down? I reckon a good 50% of planned plays ended in confusion today. What’s that all about?
Defensively we are all over. Has this area been completely forgotten in the throw the ball about at all costs masterplan? Individual players get hammered for defensive “mistakes” but it looks like a team thing to me. They look confused as to where to stand and who to pick up.
I could go on, confusion amongst playmakers as to their roles, a muddled kicking game, mistakes with substitutions (Bailey on too long 1st half last week, Buderus off at the wrong time 1st half this week).
McDermott will pepper the press conference with “learn from this” clichés but that is exactly what they are not doing.
Not good enough with the squad at their disposal. A dodgy appointment gone bad.
(At least I feel better for venting that!)

How can anyone class Warrington as a big club when you play in a 13,024 capacity stadium?

Better than last week when he was staring blankly at the floor while playing with a rubber glove
On a serious note we only see a few seconds and hpefully he is having some sort of input in there.
The point regarding blaming Mcdermott for our losses. I agree to some exstent, he has been with these players for 6 months now and performances should be improving. But also players have to take some blame for the poor errors, mistakes and general ineptitude. All including GH have to take some blame. GH wanted this style of play. Mcdermott appears to be struggling to coach it and the players cannot play it.

| The thing is.... I'm not calling for mcdermotts head but given current tactics & defence I just can't see us improving consistency. We really are all over the shop and for the first time in years I thing the players are starting to lack belief. Don't know what options we have but I am absolutely raging after that shocker.

It might be. I hope it is, I want Leeds to succeed and he has two thirds of the season to correct this mess.
However, on what you have seen so far, can you see that happening?
In fact can you think of one area that has been broken and subsequently fixed this season?
I'm open to suggestions.

Nonsense like that in the media doesn't inspire confidence.
And neither does this, from todays post match
Quote ="Brian Mcdermott"
"The word 'soft' is the one I've got in my head. You show that to any opposition and they go straight for your throat and Hull KR did that.
"There were a few individuals who stood up but as a group were were soft and I include the coaching staff involved in this."

I suppose the Quins fans warned us, he's had 4 years practice talking in riddles after a loss.

| How long was Dean Lance in charge before action was taken to remove him from his position? Whilst I am not saying McDermott should leave Headingley with his head on a stake something needs to be done.
Might be an pipe dream but how about:
Noble - Head Coach
McDermott - Assistant (as he should have been)
Lowes - Elsewhere, maybe Hull FC head coach
Gibson - As you were quite like him

If Leeds want to move forward they need a top assistant from Australia - coaching methods in the NRL are light years ahead of where we are here. Noble - get real

Possibly but who out there is available and would make a difference. We are still in two competitions at present. Under the current management structure we won't compete in any.

Completely agree. Pipe dream to get Noble - maybe. Someone from the NRL - that's a real dream. In the middle of a season, playing as we are. Yep, those Aussies are going to be jumping at the chance.

| It's not just todays game though. Each game we have played we don't seem to have a game plan or if we do it doesn't transfer to the pitch. Even Wigan which was our best performance this year we didn't have much structure and lost the plot in the last 15 minutes.

| Whilst it's not been great so far this season, and I am thoroughly pi55ed off with the lack of structure we show in both defence and attack, it's too soon to get rid of McDermott now. He has not had enough time to get the team to play the style he wants them to play, nor has he had enough fit bodies to work with.
However, should he not be able to significantly improve performances once he has either had more time (say June or July), or he gets a fit and settled team, then he should be shown the door at the end of this season. The current level of performance cannot be allowed to continue for the rest of the season and him to keep his job for next year. Changing coaches in mid season only makes sense if there is someone better available.

| I'm not sure. How many did we have out today 7/8?
Any team that has that many players out will look below standard.
However why on earth did it take him 40 mins to realise playing Lee Smith on one leg isn't a good idea. He was never going to be a threat on the ball, and he was never going to be able to make any cover tackles. A damaged hamstring is a damaged hamstring - once they go they just go, they certainly don't heal with more exercise. I'm sure he knew that but he thought the sacrifice of taking a man out of the pack was the greater sacrifice.

Whilst Noble would doubtless love the job he's never going to get it.

| Gawd. I hope we never see Noble here at Headingley. BMD has not impressed me at all so far, but we're stuck with him to the season's end at least.
In his defence though, the hospital passes by Sinny, Burrows, and the persistant forward ones by Senior, Webb and Hall, plus the sheer stupidity at times by JJB and Ablett can all be attributed to the players.
