I don’t doubt your information there Marty, probably bang on. But it raises the question who made the decision? Was it the director of coaching as you would expect? That been Agar, how many roles is he having to fill.
But more importantly even if the correct decision, kind of highlights the hypocrisy of the club, at a time with what what they are doing with the head coach role. And I further suspect, my opinion of course, that the space will have been created for more jobs for the boys.

At the beginning of the season I would have agreed but even with the mid season signings I don't think it's that much better. Back row is ok but we have no metal in the pack and panic when we have the ball in hand. Centres are fine, top try scorer on one wing, other is ok. That leaves the halves and the front row.

| The next appointment is huge.so now it is certain to be Agar, sorry but it is going to set us back several more seasons. I don't buy the waffle of 'he will do a job for another year while contracts run down' etc.. we need the right man in NOW to do the rebuild. The same problems will still be there this time next year when we are floating in the pish pool of mediocrity.
Agar failed at Hull failed at Wakey and is derided by Warrington fans for his stint behind the scenes in his last gig. Now he has scraped a few wins to barely keep us up with all the resources we have and the luxury of mid season signings and it qualifies him to take arguably the biggest job in british RL?? It is what it is but it baffles me how any Leeds fan can be ok with this.

Agree 100%...Really hope he proves us wrong but my god, he's more or less a laughing stock with fans of the teams he's coached, got a rubbish CV, and here he is as our new permanent head coach, we'v appointed based on nothing apart from that he's mates with upper management it seems. Shocking decision imo,we'l hear the laughter from from France to Canada on monday morning.

Personally I don’t care what he’s done in the past, I care what he’s going to do in the future.
We don’t know who else has applied or who the other options are, I’ll judge him on how he goes next year and the year after if he’s still in the job, this transition period was always going to take at least 3 years
An coach from the NRL is no guarantee of success, Furner was praised in here (including by myself) and look how that turned out.

And he may get the results, we’ll have to wait and see, it won’t be next year though.
What I’m not looking forward to though is after every loss or below par performance next year (which will happen) is the agar out posts, he’s a brave man taking on the job IMO

Aghhh the transition we have been in that, or should have been planning properly since around 2012 for me the fact we are in this state at the end of 2019 is poor to say the least. So only 3 more years of this dross or maybe a bit more and things will be rosy again? Great

I'm sure he is a cracking fella but that has nothing to so with having the ability to head coach a team like Leeds. Infact his track record points to failure at every turn.

Yes the transition has been handled poorly we can all agree with that.
3 years is from when Sinfield came in, since then we’ve shipped a load of players out brought new ones in and at the end of next year a load more will be going.
I’m not expecting much out of next year a top 5 playoff place will do me with hopefully some of the younger players coming along

Im sure players love him, he seems a really good bloke and he does seem to know what he's talking about, but he dosnt seem to be able to translate that into results. Based on his career to date, he's done nothing atall to warrent being our head coach, the exact opposite infact, his CVs terrible. That supersedes a players opinion for me.

He’s got us out of the this year which was no easy task, we looked a right shambles.
Having a great CV from the past doesn’t always translate to success in a different team, look at Tim Sheens in his time in SL.
We ate just going to have to see how he goes and I really hope he proves the naysayers wrong, however I get the feeling for some anything less than us winning something next year will see him as a failure. We won’t be winning anything til at least 2021

| The transition excuse is wearing thin, look no further than the other dugout last night, he's in transition all the time, loses his best players every year, with a squad built on a shoestring budget, no Academy to call on.....Loses one of his halfs, gets our castoff in return...playoffs.
We sign two marquees, another 2 NRL forwards midseason, take the above coachs starting half midseason...2 points off bottom, exactly where we were when Agar took over, one win against any remotely decent team.
If Salfords squad can make the playoffs, playing some quality stuff aswel, our squad should be able to....Good coaching is the difference.

Il start off by complimenting your optimism, wish i shared it... But
We'r 2 points off bottom, exactly where we were when he got the job, with a much easier run of fixtures and a few good signings. All he's done is win as many games as the other relegation fodder, with much better resources.
You say your not bothered by what he's done in the past, thats exactly what should be looked at when trying to get the best person fot the job...Someone with a history of doing well, we'r appointing sumone with a history of failure and suddenly expecting that to change. If past accomplishments or failures dont count for nothing then the whole employment system of CV's , Qualifications...Etc are clearly missing a trick...Just appoint a mate and hope for the best. Its ridiculous.
I dont think anyones expecting us to be winning things nxt year, some of us just dont think winning as many games as the bottom team is anything to crow about.
You dont seem to be seeing why many arnt happy with the appointment, genuine question.. what is it that your seeing with Agar that some are missing, what has he done in his whole coaching career that makes him a good appointment in your opinion?

On that basis shouldn’t we be talking to Brian McDermott again...?
