I can't remember why I left, obviously it was after some sort of prolonged argument with several other posters (I dimly recall vowing to stab the next pedant I physically came into contact with). I've never really been that good at internet arguing, I'm much better in the flesh where I can simply resort to shouting or taking the p!$$. However, much like AP, I abandoned my long time user name (the same one I had before the "great crash" I guess around 14 years ago) and became the upper lip hair of my long time idol Dave Heron.

I have managed to stay away from the Sin Bin though after silently deciding that I'd rather stick an angry porcupine up my @r$e than exchange "banter" with the people who fill their lives on that board. It hasn't been the same anyway since Wigan Fan was "eliminated" permanently. He was a nice guy when he first started posting and then somwhere along the line transformed into the internet equivalent of Vlad the Impaler. But it was all worth it to watch the total mayhem he inflicted on people who otherwise see their opinions as untouchable and the fawning @r$elickers who orbit around them.

I think he took the decision to create a new account and continue his negativity into 2014 and beyond.

I'm led to believe the original inspiration for allowing an "Agent Provocateur" loose on these forums came via an invitation from the owner of the website, mainly for the purpose of generating more website hits. The owner was particularly enthusiastic about targeting the Southstander forum and in particular it's regulars who were... in his opinion... arrogant, pompous, middle class, business types who required taking down a peg or two given they were intrinsically unrepresentative of the sport and it's working class roots.

IIRC, the Southstander/BDMC/FAE clique couldn't handle anything else. The "whitey" one on Kirkstall Rd which most closely resembles Lala's in Batley got the nod. AP didn't vote for it.

I think my first ever heated online discussion was with Dannyboy01 (whoever the hell he is) on the Leeds official messageboard, before Rivals.net.

Things were a lot more heated in the early days, I argued a lot more and was quite offensive at times. I guess you have limited options, calm down or blow out and disappear. I don't think you can maintain that level of aggression indefinitely.
