| Quote ="Simmo71"Well that was basically a SL team against a Championship team.
Absolutely clueless.
Hooley really is championship level.
Sinfield is just not ready yet.
Oledski continued his poor form this season. Looks to have gone a bit soft. He needs a rest this off season.
Walters was poor as well.
Newman had a shocker and when we're struggling, he's a liability.
Gannon was completely anonymous and is never a half back in a million years.
I think we are probably looking for a 9, because sadly, neither of them give us any dynamism from DH.
Fusitua probably our best player, but he'll be out injured next week.
As I've kept saying, 9th / 10th in the table is where we deserve to finish.
Please let this season end.....'"
I’d be happy for Leeds to send Oledski and Newman to Wigan.

| Quote ="Exeter Rhino"Good to see the usual brainless comments about it all being Smith's fault. Did you really expect Leeds to win with the team we had out?
Look at the amount of salary cap sat in the stands, missing in Australia somewhere, or allowed to leave mid-season to play for other clubs. There are questions about management at the club but I fail to see how they can all be laid at the door of the head coach.
By the way, we played the top team in the league today who put in a big performance over 80 minutes.
Let's just say we sack Smith now. Whoever comes into replace him will have his hands tied for the next few years on contracts and the playing roster. It just doesn't make sense to remove him at all. This isn't soccer you know.'"
It’s the manner of the defeat that’s the issue not the defeat. That was simply unacceptable for a Leeds team regardless of injuries etc. that team we had out should not get beat 50-0 at home. Disgusting

He was but has gone and GH is even more out of touch and needs to go again for good.
Having a 70 year old CEO means a business should be thinking about succession planning but even if we haven’t it’s a 10-12 million pound business it’s not that complicated to run. Oates does the corporate stuff, there is a failing hotel and the rugby side to make good decisions on.
If GH was taken seriously ill tomorrow, someone would come
In and run it.
Look at the majority of the people running the RFL and other clubs, many are not impressive.
I’m sure caddick will have an executive in business who could
Run it easily. The key is also getting an good rugby man in.

I’ve got no issues with GH moving aside but it’s got yo be a managed process with someone so important to the club.

| Our squad at the start of the season probably wasn't good enough to challenge at the top of the table, but it was better than the rubbish we have served up this season. Would a different coach have got better performances out of this squad? I believe so.
The end of our play off chances isn't down to today's performance . It is due to our half arssed start to the season, which never truly got going.

| We’ve git spanked today because we don’t have a first grade half back and our side is sloppy, disorganised and error-prone. We constantly put ourselves under pressure unnecessarily and fail to make the other side work. In the heat of today we got gassed and then the floodgates open.

| Well that was fun!
Only Fusitua and McDonnell earning a 5/10 with others scoring much less for me.
No structure, weak tackling and no planned moves.
Like I said on another topic we need at least half a dozen new signings with at least 3 of quality otherwise we will not make next years play offs again.
We are saying Smith inherited the bulk of this seasons squad and it will take time for him to get it right.
Out of interest what was the squad like last year when we made the GF compared to this year (ins and outs)?
Was our squad so much better last year compared to this?

| You could equally ask whether a really rubbish coach could have taken that poor squad to a GF?
Really impressed with RS post match presser today. I know he polarises opinion on here but that’s a mature response, he’s not hanging teenage players on the line and some real honesty about where we are at.
Still has my backing into next season; but no excuses not to be in a play off position and much more competitive in 2024.

Thought the same about his presser, seemed honest and measured.
He has my backing but i agree we have to be much much better next season, hopefully we don’t have as much disruption

Rohan Smith took a side in 11th to a grand Final.
Have you actually watched Hull they are utterly dreadful. How has he taken them forwards?
They will probably finish 10th if they do they will be below last year.
They are also losing their best player.
Strange example to use Tad.

That is where the issues lie because either we get bad value for money or other teams are spending way over the cap (saints, wire, wigan? catalan?). maybe both...
To think this squad is at the cap limit on a par with other clubs spending is embarassing...

| Went to the game today as had free passes and was able to get there, plus the sun was shining.
I thought the start of the game, first 15 mins, was pretty even and not much in it.. The heat must have a played a part in that, 30 degrees.
As the game progressed it was clear that WIgan were doing the basics much better and building pressure. Too often our "bigger" players just fade into the background. We just look clueless and not to bag sinfield but anyone could have done what he dod today... put in a few tackles, pass the ball on, kick on the last. Maybe he will some good in a few years but nowhere near currently.
I thought wigan did nothing extra special today, just played as a solid team..# But 50 is hard to swallow...
Morgan Smithies is the biggest greb in Super League.

| Finally cooled off after todays drubbing. This has been coming for the last month or so despite winning two out of the last three. Today they ran into a very good full strength Wigan with a point to prove after a couple of recent heavy defeats at our hands. We had half team and probably about a 2 thirds of the salary cap missing tso as bad as it was, I'm not too upset. I fear it will probably more of the same at Catalans next week. There's no getting away from it, we need far more quality in our playing squad. One bright note for me was Fusitua, who I thought was outstanding. The rest ranged from awful to very average.

| Errm yeah Hull getting beaten by Cas last night and a weak Leeds side last week at home, sitting in 10th but apparently they've improved. That's an interesting take on them.
