The media do not determine guilt or otherwise. Thank goodness given the inquiry the media is facing right now and the lack of standards the media employ.

The CPS do not determine guilt or otherwise, they decide whether to prosecute.

A jury determines guilt in these instances. JS will never be found guilty or otherwise because he was not prosecuted whilst alive. The alleged victims won't be given the opportunity to see justice served. That is a result of their inaction. Not a criticism, an observation.

Anyone who is not an alleged victim that claims they knew of these alleged incidents but remained silent is a waste of oxygen and a piece of excrement. Unlike any alleged victims they had a legal and moral obligation to report these issues whatever their excuses and reasons. How many alleged victims suffered further alleged crimes after these so called eye witness remained silent.

Aside from the alleged abuse itself, this is the one aspect of the whole sorry tale which has made me sick to the stomach. The likes of Paul Gambaccini and the former producer coming out and claiming 'they knew' but never said anything, is a crime in itself (for me, anyway) - and to do it in such a matter-of-fact manner too. Cowards, the lot of 'em.

I don't blame the victims for not saying anything, but others who knew, and are now coming out of the woodwork need to have a look at themselves

I just find this depressing. Someone who you thought was one of the good guys, eccentric, on his own, but one of the good guys who makes the world a better place, turns out to be a total disgrace. Then this morning there's a 1000 page dossier of evidence against Lance Armstrong - another "hero", who turns out to be a cheating, bullying $hitbag. No wonder he's gone quiet.

It would appear that a lot of people are acting like bullies regarding these alleged incidents by jumping on a bandwagon and saying what they think people would like to hear. TV reporters,celebrities and even police officers are viewing these ALLEGED incidents as actual incidents with no proof whatsoever in some cases. If something could have been conclusively proved it should have been done a long,long time ago. If anything did happen the only people that really know are Savile and the ALLEGED victims at this moment in time. Does anyone remember poor old Karen Mathews whose daughter had been "kidnapped" and that landlord down in Bristol that had "murdered" his lodger. I have my own thoughts on Savile, but neither you,I, or that silly bitch Esther Rantzen know exactly how much truth there is to many parts of this investigation. Sadly too many people may have stayed quiet for too long, others are coming forward with "evidence" based on hearsay.

If there is any amusement to be taken from any of this its from the ill-considered and ill-informed comments from the media and the general public...

The problem with Scarborough (& Filey) is the people (generally). Such a high percentage of one-eyes, chavs and a-holes.

A night out in Scarborough is like something from Roadhouse.

Then there's the borough council who do their very best to go against public opinion and screw the locals over. The demise of the football club and the recent supermarket bid being just a couple of examples.

Nice place to visit (for a day) though.

I also have happy memories of Scarborough,and I love the town,but less than a year ago they were really making a big effort to claim Savile as their own Jimmy.great tourist attraction etc.All this scandal is disgusting,but we are seeing so much of now it reminds of a certain statement made about eleven years ago"its a good day to bury bad news"
