| Looking forward to this, although without england squad members we could be a little bare especially in the backs.
Apparently peacock and Sinfield won't play either according to Pete smith.

Well that is one issue with the game.
Watkins and Hall are shoe-ins for England, as is probably Hardaker for the squad even if he has to stay behind Tomkins.
Ablettt hasn't had the strongest start to the season but you can't rule him out of contention and both StevieWard and even Singleton are staking claims. Add to that the reinvigorated McGuire and the possible inclusion of Cuthbertson......along with Sinfield and Peacock deciding that the playoffs/GF should be there swansong then it could a VERY depleted Rhinos lineup.
You'd like to think though especially in Peacock's case that when push comes to shove, he couldn't resist one last crack at an International team.

| It's got anti climax written all over it. Its ok, and I will be purchasing my ticket as soon as they are out, but it's not going to be a great game like people are making out. I may be missing something but it's gonna be Leeds academy vs Kiwis.
1, Zak, Watkins, Hall and maybe Cuthertson and Ward will be on the England squad.
2, Peter Smith (YEP) has already said on Twitter that even at this early stage it look as though Kev and JP won't play. And that is probably right too..they want to bow out at Old Trafford, the perfect end, not a friendly two weeks after the season has ended. I should imagine JP will want to have his feet up and Kev will be having a rest until his Carnegie contract starts on Nov 1st.
3, Those needing off season surgery. How many is that usually? 4/5 players? Getting them under the knife asap will the priority so they are ready in time for 2016 and a good preseason, not delaying it.
How many does that leave? Take those England boys out and we will get hammered.

| Very much going to be a warm up game with a lot of our best players missing and the Kiwis probably blooding a few players, but i'm looking forward to it and will be there.
Our team has a few uncertainties about it, which depends on McBanana willingness to change any of the four nations squad. At this stage I think Ward has a big claim, but so did Ferres for the World cup. If he doesn't change it, injury depending and contracts, then we wont have the worst team. Another uncertainty will be McGuire and Burrow if they are out of contract. Can't see a players contract lasting much past the GF.
Handley taking on Vatuvei or Golding trying to stop Hurrell will be interesting

Exactly
As one of the younger member of this board I have often heard of the touring sides of decades ago and how great it was to watch them.....without actually having experienced them.
Now we have a chance to see Leeds take on a touring NZ side. Will it be it be our strongest possible side....no. Will we win......most likely not.
But hell it'll be a occasion you can talk about in 20/30 years time (like many do about Leeds in the 70's/80's/90's)......so let's enjoy it.
I realise some posters on here will have to find a dictionary and look up the word 'ENJOYMENT' as they don't have a clue what the word means.

| There's no way Hetherington will big up the event and then just put out academy lads.
Every player who isn't injured or unavailable due to England call ups will be playing.
Obviously Peacock & Sinfield are unknowns but I'd be suprised if Peacock didn't fancy a go.

| It's a cracking fixture imo but the way the Clubs twitter feed was bigging up a "Big H/T announcement that they think everyone will be excited about" brought a muted response amongst many at the game who were clearly expecting a signing to be announced.
Putting all that aside though i'm looking forward to seeing the Kiwis down at HQ irrespective of who we can or will select.

If we assume Hardaker,Hall,Ward and Cutbertson get selected for England then our team lining up to face the Kiwis could look something like this.Certainly capable of keeping it competetive however plenty of time between now and then and the likes of Ablett,Briscoe and Singleton are also more than capable of making the England squad.

No I didn't think it'd be a signing, I thought it might have been either Burrow leaving or some announcement about the stadium.

| After reading stuff about the stadium on here the last couple of weeks, I thought it was going to be something about redevelopment on some part(s) of it. Plus as well, I noticed new (?) floodlights at the cricket stadium that looked like massive clovers. Unless my observation skills are lacking and they have been there for ages..?

They are new, to enable evening/night games.
And they are supposed to be shaped after this

That's exactly what they are supposed to represent though they do bear a remarkable resemblance to a shamrock.
I think they look very good just a wee bit different from the bog standard designs.
This year T20 games are nearly all on a Friday evening starting at 7pm or so' to maximise attendance, hence the necessity for them.
Furthermore going forward all test match grounds must have them so they had to be installed.
YCCC may well have received a grant towards the cost from the ECB.
On the subject of floodlights I was amazed at such a cost conscious club as Leeds to see our floodlights on yesterday afternoon.
Hard to imagine they could be needed on such a sunny afternoon, even more so when the game wasn't being televised.
Tut tut Gary, wasting money unnecessarily, that's not like you.

| Approx £1.8m cost for the floodlights, of which £700k came from an ECB grant I believe.
