Wasn't malicious IMO as he was trying to hack the ball on but if the ref viewed it as an attempted trip he has to show him red. Thought McDermott was over the top with his comments at end about it. Good result for Leeds though and into hat for next round, just wonder at what cost though, didn't look good for young Clarkson and McGuire and Webb didn't come back

Webb had a dead leg and McGuire had a pulled quad. Both not overly serious. Probably a few weeks out at most. Clarkson's looked worse though which is a shame for the lad because he's established himself as a 1st teamer at Leeds now and never stops working. Pretty dodgy tackling technique that led to the injury though.

Does that include today's sending off?

IIRC we've had:

1. Godwin sent off by Alibert for punching
2. J. Tomkins sent off by Ganson for dangerous contact - elbow
3. Bailey sent off by Thaler for fighting
4. O'Donnell sent off by Thaler for fighting
5. Cahill sent off by Ganson for dangerous contact/kicking

I'd put more than a few quid on Ganson flashing the most reds over the last 5 seasons. Thaler and Smith wouldn't be far behind either.

No doubt about it that it was a sending off. I don't know what his intension's were and neither does anyone else but you can't swing the boot and kick at the ball carrier.

My two penny's worth... deserved to be a sending off as it was potentially dangerous. He will only get 1 game (two at the most) as there was no malice. Just stupidity.

Boyle got sent off pre season v hkr iirc. Yesterday he had to go. He was nowhere near kicking the ball. He would have to go through burrow which he tried to do. Having said this isn't the wife beater an arrogant nob the way he speaks to people

Regarding the touch judge just watched the tape back and sure peacock says to ganson "don't like him" he was joking think because we got called for a forward pass

It wasn't even the first time Child has sent off a Hull player at the KC Stadium. I seem to recall him sending Jordan Tansey off for a spear tackle against the team he now plays for - when he's not cup-tied that is.

It was clumsy and tired but not malicious.

Cahill desrveed at least a yellow and the red was a bit harsh but I don't think Ganson had any choice.
Bryant's elbow was much worse, it was malicious, calculated and deliberate. He should have been sent off but if the ref/linesman didn't see I suppose putting him on report was fair. He should be banned for two games though. I bet that doesn't happen.

First look i shouted red card straight away, after seeing the head on replay the red card was harsh but the ref only gets one look so isuppose he had to go.Harris was being a knob though claiming they got a few bad calls.

Clarksons tackle on Clinton, the one where he went in feet first and hurt himself was a bit "iffy" and Lee Smith tackle on Kear was "lateish". And yes Bryant tackle was poor.
