Here we have a good winger who his not afraid to come inside and also make a good tackle or two and scores trys regulary but has not shown any mobility or crushing tackles to prove that he could be even thought of in the centre. Is it to prove to others that they no more than us or the coaching staff. Leave him where he does the best work returning kicks useually safe under high balls and devastating down the touchline'"

| Agree with both Digger & AG.
Ryan Hall is one of the only wingers in SL (Certainly the only English Winger in SL) that comes close to fitting the mould of an Australian Winger.
Why is it a bad thing if our winger is the size of a centre?? Why must people insist on moving him in one to face someone of a similar size and stature? Why not leave him out wide and give him a huge size advantage over the skinny speed merchant trying to stop him scoring?!
Being a winger in the modern game isn't about having pace to burn, letting the centre do all the work then screaming down the outside for an 80 metre effort. Yes, that still happens, but it certainly isn't all that's required of a winger these days. So what, Ryan has lost a bit of pace, but everything else about him screams winger. His finishing is quality, his strength is vastly improved, his positioning is getting better and better, he's safe under a high ball, his kick returns are towards the try line in a forward direction and not running 30 metres sideways (sorry Brent!!).
Just leave him where he is and let him develop as a modern winger.
I swear if people got their way he'd be a centre next year so he'd bulk up a bit more, then they'd be a thread calling for him to be in the second row in 2012 cos he's got pretty big, and before you know it by 2013 there's a thread with people talking about Ryan Hall being a replacement for Peacock!!
31 Tries in 33 games, in a season where we finished 4th. He's a winger. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

| Its a british RL 'thing', All wingers are frustrated fullbacks or centres, all fullbacks are stand-offs and centres are 2nd rowers.
Probably why we struggle so much in the back 5 positions, no-ones playing where they should be.

| Clearly the most powerful winger in England and a very good finisher to boot.
It's pleasing to see criticism of the idea of moving him to .
Our England have a problem with passing accuracy as it is 'cough cough Atkins cough cough', do we really think that Ryan would improve that area?
The best winger in the country....does not mean automatically he'd make a good

I think Mcnamarra's taken a lot of undue critisism in terms of both Bradfords and Englands performances, but that is shocking team selection. Hall is easily Englands best winger.

You must be having a laugh. Hall was very poor again today and was poor against NZ Maori. That is why he was left out for the Australia game and even if he had been fit for the New Zealand game was dropped anyway. He is lazy and makes too many mistakes.

He might be big and strong etc etc but he needs to learn how to carry a ball.
Burrow, Robinson or Briers would have that off him in an instant.

| I was disappointed in Hall. Briscoe IMV offered himself far more in taking the ball up. Unless he (Hall) was told by the coach not to do that.

It's bizarre this one. Even when I should be wrong I end up being right.
My initial concerns that he lacked gas and stamina have started to resurface. Perhaps he's just carrying injuries at the end of a long, tough season but he's looked ponderous for a while now and continued that form on tour.

Why is it obviously a troll?
Hall was frankly garbage against the Maori. Even if he hadn't been injured he would have been lucky to keep his place ahead of Briscoe and Goulding. When he was fit again, he only got a game through Goulding's injury and McNamara's "give everyone a go" selection policy against PNG where he looked way off the pace again.
The rest of your post just reeks of defensive, one club mentality. Trying looking at Hall's "contribution" to the tour through something other than blue and amber glasses.

| I have voiced my concerns for a while now about Hall.
Rarely does he take a man on the outside, does not run with any venom at the defence and has scored many of his tries thanks to Senior .
Maybe he was lucky to go on tour but the only player who could have ousted him was Fox.
Now maybe if Hall had not bulked up so much he would still have his pace

I follow more than one rl team and i also attend as a neutral in the uk and Oz. I've also made the effort to follow England on tour/world cup. I have an open view to club and international rugby so I think you are way off the mark with your Leeds specs comment. I've seen this poster trolling his way through rl fans and saw the post for what it is, purely in my opinion of course. hall might well have been poor but to single him out from a warm up match and a dead rubber where plenty of others contributions have been nonexistent or ineffective throughout the tour is frankly blinkered at best. Calling hall lazy is just trolling imo and his skills in attacking and defence have been no more exposed than the entire squad(maybe with the exception of Gaz Ellis), again in my opinion.
