| Will give it a read.
I doubt he's at bad as people are saying but just the disappointment that it wasn't a more highly rated player given how big our Spine issues are.

| I can't remember much of his time at Huddersfield, as others have mentioned that's probably because he didn't do much and i don't see much NRL. But if his strengths are organising the team and getting other players running good lines he could be just what we need. We need another halfback to compliment him but if he has those attributes alone we should look more cohesive than this season.

| I know RS has had stick from us (self included) about lack of structure, but he needs players who can play what they see, make good decisions under pressure and put other players in the right areas.
As Cluesy says Frawley will have a much better chance if we invest in a genuine 7.

| Quote ="gym bunny 100"I'm glad Bentley is staying ,also we need a revitalised Oledski next season, I suspect he is still troubled by injury but he has had a very average season'"
Oledzki is not alone in that regard. Some people talk about Lisone like he’s the benchmark, but I watched him consecutively for three of our attacking sets yesterday and he spent more time in the Wigan defensive line offside, hiding behind other players rather than going for a carry, or generally not being anywhere near the action. I know there’s a few of our supporters looking for a cult hero and they’ve tried getting a Sam Lisone song going, but sorry lads, he’s a fake. Whereas Brett Delaney had a heart the size of a lion this fella has one the size of an apple pip when you’re gonna really need him. He has too many games where you don’t even know he’s been on the pitch, and that’s symptomatic of this current team’s issues.

| Supporters at the lower end of the understanding of the game will always laud the players who make a couple of eye catching plays at the ignorance of their overall game. Its called 'the Dwyer effect'.

| I wasn’t impressed with Lisones performance yesterday or many of the other forwards but if you’re referring to getting back in the like after a Wigan kick, this is a common energy saving tactic used by most teams at all levels.
Opposite team kick over, backs take the first 3/4 carries while the pack walks back to get air in the lungs.

| Frawley and whoever else we bring in will need our pack to do a much better job if they are to stand much chance next year. We started with the passive defence thing and its crept back at times in too many games. I don't think its a deliberate tactic any more but there's a soft attitude about some of our forward play. I'd hope this off-season we aim to bring as much aggression as possible up the middle. Its so hard for a halfback to make much happen if we're constantly getting slow PTBs and poor yardage up front.

| Just don't have the pack to do that atm.
In the past we have strong kick returns from a strong fullback and big wingers to help the pack.
On top of that we then had a good mix of grafters, hard hitters, offloaders and linebreakers in the pack.
Atm the all but lisone and sangare are grafters abd the above two haven't really offered enough of anything else we need.
We really need a pack leading prop that can hit hard and lead by example like peacock, Kylie etc used to.

| Quote ="KaeruJim"Ok so where do you fit Bentley in?
I’d probs my go: Martin, McDonnell, Goudemand, Gannon, Bentley, Donaldson.
I’m not forgetting it’s a squad game at all, I’m pointing out we have 6 second rowers for 2/3 places in the 17 and 4 props for 4 places in the 17. 4 decent second rowers should be enough plus academy lads if you get an injury crisis.
Unless Martin is going to play centre.'"
Goudemand is a middle, as is Donaldson. That takes you down to 4 back rowers, of which 1 will also play some centre and 1 that is 19 years old.

| Watched the whole game today.
Positives
Apart from one poor early kick which was not set up for him and Gagai slipping his tackle he did little wrong.
He looked calm.
His passing was good when going wide but he got better service at 2nd receiver than he will get at Leeds.
Stepped well to take his try
Spoke to SH Fogarty after an error, looks like he will be a good team mate.
General tackling was sound.
Negatives
He looks pretty slow and frankly older than 28.
Spoke very little but he’s a fill in on that team.
As a result , Fogarty controlled 90% of last tackle plays. Frawley
Was little involved.
He is Mr steady away . To be of any use he will need better ball into him and lots of running threats around him. Although he scored I think Newcastle viewed him as no real threat which helped him. He needs to be told and encouraged to be a big voice at Leeds, probably the biggest voice.
The lad at 7, Fogarty would be a good signing but he ran the show so can’t see
Him leaving NRL.

| If Frawley plays out left then he needs a real running threat in the centre alongside him. Not sure Martin fits that bill...

| Rhyse Martin is not a Centre, he doesn't have the pace, the awareness, the agility or the handling skills. He's a back rower that can run a nice line off a structured play.
He's been great as a fill in, held his hand up for us, but we can't contemplate giving him the number 4 jersey full time next season if we want to move forward. He needs to stay in the back row.

He seems to be playing Newman on the left now. Injury prone as he has been, he's probably our greatest running threat.

Wigan completely exposed him on Saturday - never a centre but Gannon is never a half back - to everyone except Smith who appears to be playing RL Manager!!

Agree, as I have stated several times we are a deeply flawed side ,player’s playing out of position etc etc. Martin is a classic case, we lose the service of a good back row forward as he steps in to the three quarters. He does his best but ultimately he is never a decent half back or . Full credit to him he gets on with the job without moaning.

Agree, unfortunately his petulance is becoming irritating. Teams are starting to laugh at him, smith needs to sort him out.

| I respectfully disagree.
Though im not thrilled at the signing, if he can bring a cool head, a decent kicking game and a bit of leadership then Im all for it as weve zero of any of that at the moment. Its up to the powers that be to get another half in to "do the flash stuff" im happy for him to be the steady eddie and kick us around the park.

| I've calmed down a bit now. I don't think Frawley is a top halfback, but if we can pair him with someone who is dynamic, maybe it will work, especially with Miller chiming in from the back. Frawley can be the one who does the job Sezer was supposed to - take control on the last and make sure we get decent kicks away and maintain structure throughout.
