Existing floodlights system, will they have to be altered or more units installed?.

How come some games are being played at Elland Road and some Headingly? Do you know if the Wire game on 4th May will be at ER?

The floodlights currently in place will be removed once the new stands are fully completed. New floodlights will be to the front of the South and North Stand.

First the spiral staircase, then the entire south stand, now the floodlights. Disappointing

Plus just when they start making progress everything gets held up whilst the whole building site is scrutinised by all sorts of people, made safe to use and handed over to the club to play a game in front of.

I remember the old floodlights going in favour of the 'pole' ones. You get over such things.

I know there wont be as large a capacity in the new north stand ,but what I've seen of the latest images the structure is going to be huge

The north stand will have a large corporate capacity.

That stand is more roof than substance unfortunately. To think we mocked the Wire fans with their popular side roof being so far above the terracing.

It will also help to generate revenues - without a club there will be no atmosphere. The old South stand was a relic of an era pre WW2 - the less said about the North stand the better.

Why will the atmosphere be killed?

It all depends upon whether the architects have built something in the stand to direct/amplify the 'noise' from the stand. People need to remember the south stand was a small 'shed' in comparison that had to be replaced for health and safety reasons. Things will not be the same but hopefully they will be better as I expect some carnegie stand season ticket holders who wish to join in the singing could well move seats if allowed

obviously I wasn't there yesterday and I don't know if it rained during the game so does any one think there is a threat of getting wet due to that Roof ?

fans make atmosphere, if the fans stand around with their hands in their pockets saying" the atmosphere is not like it used to be" then it will be, but if fans treat it the same and make a noise and create an atmosphere then, it will be fine.

There’s a very real threat of getting wet, when standing outside in the rain, without a roof over your head.

A sound system and microphones will be installed to amplify the sound.

We got wet through yesterday. When the club advertised the limited 2000 season tickets for the "New Southstand" they failed to add "ROOFLESS New Southstand".
Pretty important omission I would say, do you think the Trades Description authorities would be interested.

I do wonder how some younger supporters would have coped having to put a shovel and thermos in the car before driving from Hull/Leeds to Whitehaven over the Pennines.

Did they tell you the roof would be on from the start of the season?

I think it was made quite clear it would be a partially built South Stand, hence only 2000 going on sale.

Is there any indication when this number is going to increase.

So it wasn't a see transparent roof after all? lol .
