Apparently everyone was beating their conditioning scores from the return and looking fit, hate to see what they were before.

Some similar traits as last week. Clear a econd best in terms of physicality in contact (defence and attack), speed of movement and speed of thought. Error count is crippling. Bouncing/falling off too many tackles in defence. Going for forward the players don’t seem on the same page, not running the right lines, taking the ball static etc. We turned it round last week, getting a real roll on, fingers crossed we can repeat that, but I’m not seeing it.
Sadly this side is underpowered physically, and undercooked from a coaching perspective. Three quarters lack physicality or pace. Pack lacks size and physicality to get any go forward, getting run over the top of by Saints. Gale again looks like he’s trying to thread passes but players aren’t running the lines he wants, too often stood still. Mclelland does look more involved than Lui was last week.

Is this the Rich Agar effect we all secretly knew was going to appear sooner or later?

When the pack no show, it’s hard for the halves, the front row has been appalling and Prior has missed half of the teams tackles.

We’ve been so poor in defence we’re getting rolled and marched downfield. Saints have been pretty good but far from perfect.

I’ve said from the start that Agar is a really nice bloke, and he understands what is happening in fine detail, but he’s not capable of fixing it. It’s been the same at every club he’s been at.

The squad isn’t great by any means, But they are capable of much better than they are putting out tonight. Let’s see if the words of wisdom from our coaching team will make a difference for the second half. Unless we complete more tackles, dominate some collisions, and hold onto the ball, this is going to get ugly...

2 performances like these and people are entitled to rubbish the team, I dont think its an over reaction, they've been truly awful.

Just what I'm seeing to be honest. Based upon how poor this side is and the lack of desire in the pack. Doesn't make that acceptable.

What I would expect as a minimum was an improvement in dumb discipline and defensive effort. That's not been solely down to physical size.

To carry Evans on the bench just in case you get an injury in the backs is ridiculous. Mellor could've dropped into centre. Holroyd should've made the 17. I haven't seen any quality from McLelland since we signed him, though obvious pick for tonight. I've mooted before an outside of the box option could be Dwyer when we're desperate. At least we're only losing to Saints and Wigan before we get bodies back, which would be hard to win anyway. Hopefully we'll pick up after next week.

McClelland is the least of the concerns and is being badly let down by the middle. Also showing more willingness to go at the line than any others.

Because that team was a once in a generation team, sport is cyclical, couple that with the fact the squad and tradition was mismanaged somewhat and we ate where we are, this season covid or not was always going to be up and down, weve gon ok so far and were hitting a bad patch.

Weve got a few out today in important positions, saints are in good form, we aren’t.
