| Thought Gale tried hard to give us direction against Hull, albeit behind a beaten pack. Tonight he was excellent. The bottom line is that he is better than anything we have had at half back for at least three seasons. If he stays fit he will be a great signing.

| Is Harry Newman becoming the new Watkins/Senior? I don’t think he’s far off? A little bit more size, build on natural skills and he will easily in 2-3 years be an England starter.

| Thought we were always 2/3 steps ahead of KR tonight’s
Think they defiantly had a hangover from the derby against FC but... we never let them breathe and get a toe hold in the game.
We looked very sharp with Gale in supreme command and supported well across the pitch by a good supporting cast of Cam Smith, L Briscoe and obviously Newman and Walker.
We looked ruthless tonight which is a welcome change from the timid Rhinos side we’ve seen in the past, long may this continue.

Glad Agar has seen sense and played him in his natural position.

| I’m not getting carried away on the back of one result. Cam Smith at 13, Walker,
Newman at centre - all lads around 20. I expect Johnson to make first grade along with several others there or there about a from the academy. Suddenly you have half a side which is home grown and at or close to England quality and we’re cooking on gas again.
Our second row won’t be a problem within 1-2 years don’t worry about that.
Agar again criticised constantly: actually I think we may need someone else to really elevate the side to trophies but he’s done loads with Leeds since he took over.

But you are talking about 2 players that Leeds rejected as not good enough. Cams brother (dan) has proved to be another very astute signing for Cas but I watched Cam from Lock Lane under 8's and it was always obvious he had the skills to be a GB player.

| Only seen highlights but what really stands out were the different type of tries we scored.
Great to see an all round performance after what happened in week 1.
Cam Smiths potential was always there & fair doos credit to Agar for sticking him at 13 in pre-season & sticking to it up to now.
Good to see the younger lads proving again that age is just a number & with the right backing there's no need to sign pkayers like Evans.
Still 1 or 2 quality signings needed imo but a great response & plenty of positives to build on.

| Sounds like it backs were dangerous tonight. Maybe because we had winners on the wing and in the centre. My dear is that if Martin or ward are available again, we'll revert back to Sutcliffe at centre

| Would also like to say, referees really bug me in the game, I just can’t see how Kendall gets the games he gets. But last season I kept saying that every time I saw that Grant reffing, he was excellent. Here we were again last night, and yet again an excellent performance.
That’s about 12 games I have seen of his over the last year, including championship, and he is the most consistent ref by miles I have seen in the game. He should be the very first go to for super league games.

| A few more like that and we can lay claim to being flat track bullies once more
Seriously, good to know there's a few points in us and great to see the youngsters showing up well. Good also to show some of the stuff that can't be bought, makes it a lot easier not to panic about the stuff that can.

| As someone previously mentioned Luke Gale is by far the best we have had at half back for a long while.Having said that I am happy to see the much maligned Richie Myler in the 17 too, I think he is a good player and would like to see him as starting hooker for the time being,
Finally I think the club ( was it KS ? ) was justified in off loading Mitch Garbutt, spends far too much time on the treatment table, I liked him but you wonder if his heart is really in it

Thought he let the game flow much better than the likes of Hicks and Kendall who can't stop blowing the whistle. Of course, refs are always better when you score 50 !
On last night, also thought Lui played really well on the right, encouraging but HKR were definitely playing after the Lord Mayor's show last week.

Was there a ref on the field? Never noticed him. Really good.

It's not his heart that isn't in it it's his knees that aren't in it.
Always sad to see a decent player struggle because of recurring injuries. That said, Leeds did the right thing at the right time in offloading him.
What's the score with Ava's knee? It's always been heavily strapped. Is that precautionary or is that an ongoing issue he has?

| Much better albeit against limited opposition. Simple changes make a big difference, a proper winger on the right wing, Newman and Smith in their correct positions with the latter playing as an extra pivot, a controlling half back, a hooker who didn't go himself too much and 4 props rotating.

| Really happy with that, looked a different team. Some proper children on hear with the 'its quiet' posts. Agar got it wrong against Hull with Newman on the wing and more importantly the light bench, people were rightly frustrated. He got it right last night so well done to him and the team, lets enjoy the good win and hope it continues.
Cam Smiths quality and always has been, good on Agar for trusting him in his natural position. need to sort Cams new contract out sharpish.

| I enjoy watching Gale's kicking there's a lot more variety and intention rather than just a half-hearted bomb or kick to touch we've had for years. I hope he stays fit, if so he'll have a good season.
In regards to the Agar posts, I think yesterday was a good win but I still don't think Agar is the man to move us forward. A win here and there isn't what we need. He still feels like a stop-gap appointment.

| Great result yesterday and evidence that in key positions the club is better placed than 12 months ago.Considering that potentially the clubs first choice hooker and both back rows were missing there are real positives to take moving forward. The quality of the opposition obviously needs to be taken into account but I don't expect a relegation battle this year. When assessing the first 2 games it is clear in the bigger tests Leeds ability to compete will be measured on metres made up front on attack and quality of defence limiting opposition go forward. When we win this battle in a game Gale supported by Smith and Lui will manage a game in a manner Leeds have not had for a couple of years. Need to keep 2 front row options on the bench and play people in their correct positions in the backs. Check out Briscoe metres stats I think he deserves a run of 5/6 games and then people can fairly assess his potential at super league level

| Not wanting to be a doom and gloom merchant but just a perspective.
Against a good team we got steamrolled and against a poor team we walloped them.
Last night we were good right across the park but it was against a team we really should be beating if we even have mid table aspirations.
Against better teams we won't have it as easy.
Let's take the many positives but not get too carried away.
