| Quote ="ThePrinter"I'm one of Keinhorst's biggest fans on here and I'm happy to see Achurch leaving but I'd still go for Achurch for this particular fixture. If we were playing Hudds away, or if we needed one of those two to start the game at 2nd row then I'd go Keinhorst. But to come off the bench after 30/40 mins against a part time Championship team that won't have the same level of fitness and not use to the speed of a SL team who will probably have the lions share of field position then I'd go Achurch as he could do more damage attacking the edge IMO. Keinhorst would come on and as always be solid as rock in defence but he isn't used much in attack when he does play 2nd row. We've got enough work horses in the back row for this particular match/opponent with JJB, Delaney and Ablett, don't think we really need another.
Purely a horses for courses selection.'"
At no point whatsoever this year has Achurch proved or shown he deserves selection ahead of JK irresepctive of opponent.

Didn't say he was our best every week, but I can't think of any games where he has given up or been outright shocking, and there are not many in our squad that you can say that about.
Who would you say has been our most consistent performer in all your wisdom?

| I'd say at one point Keinhorst was our best performer of the year, but after Round 16 he was reduced to a limited bench role so obviously hasn't had the minutes to keep that up.
I'd be tempted to say Garbutt, he makes massive metres nearly every week and no other prop in SL made more metres per game than him.
Although he shouldn't at this point (even though he's hitting a bit of good form) I'd bet that either Watkins will be given the club's player of the year, mainly because he's been out there every week or JJB who has been an ever present since Round 5 and does a load of tackling and maybe it could be his final year so sentimental as well.....those aren't my personal choices btw just the ones I think the club will go for for their award. The fans player of the year will be an interesting one. Lilley will be a shoe in to win the YEP Shooting Star award.

Garbutt by a million miles has been our best and most consistent performer. Galloway has been very consistent. JJB since return, very consistent. Delaney and Moon when game time, consistent. Watkins has had to put up with a lot, but has consistently put his body on the line.
Keinhorst, whilst I accept your above bit, and apologise if my first post came across as personal to you post which wasn't intended, hadn't come close to those players.
Achurch who by some is scapegoat, or as I put it fickle fans, since announced leaving, has been the equal and more of what Keinhorst has given. One is critisized and another unwarranted praised. Although I do think Printers point about game time is a contributor to that, with Achurch given more time. Now, if you are talking value for money, then it would be Keinhorst every time, no question. But just simply level of performance there really is no foundation in the massive gap of comments on the two players.

Achurch at his best has been average & never outshone JK either in effort or quality that's not scapegoating that's backed up by his peformances name 1 game where he's shone individually?

| 10-0 looking fine. Clocked off a bit after, gave away a sloppy try but that seemed to wake us up again. Middle defence could be better as Fev have made metres quite well and would like to see us go wider earlier as Watkins and Moon could have a field day. Kicking hasn't been good so far but hopefully it's rustiness on McGuire's part. Would like to see Briscoe and Hall used more. Too many carries from Delaney and JJB who won't do you prop like metres or quick ptb's.

| Joe Cobb with a couple of "help the lower league team out" decisions there. Crazy that the decision even went to the VR and even crazier that it went up as a try.

Rhinos Hammer Featherstone in the Qualifiers OpenerWhen the Leeds Rhinos completed the treble at the end of 2015 you'd have got very long odds on them being involved in the 2016 super eights qualifiers and fighting for their Super League existence in 2017.
Today they made the short trip to Post Office Road to take on a Featherstone Rovers side who controlled their own destiny in beating the Bradford Bulls in the last round of the regular Championship season to leapfrog their opponents into the qualifiers and begin their quest for Super League.
Jon Sharp's Fev side came into the game looking for an upset but were up against a Rhinos side who had found form as the regular season ended and came into today's game on the back of five wins in their last six outings.

Went about as I thought. The question was how well we'd execute in attack and thus how many points we'd get. We saw against HKR we can be guilty of a lot of knock ons in attack but we limited them today.
2 sloppy errors from us gifted them their try and the break which led to Keinhorst's sin binning. As I said at HT, we went about 30 mins with only one recognised prop in Garbutt on with Singleton and Galloway taking a breather. The lack of size with Delaney and JJB doing a lot of carries down the middle didn't help but didn't matter in the end. Ryan Hall must be frustrated. A massively comfortable win against a Championship team and he still barely gets a sniff.
Granted you have to take the opposition into account but Watkins is a confidence player so very encouraging to see him in good form. Also think Sutcliffe offers us much more in attack than Hardaker does at FB.

I don't think the gulf was all that much, they just couldn't handle Watkins Moon and Sutcliffe on the edges. SL teams with lesser back lines won't find it so easy, as we were fairly nullified down the middle.
Positives were our backs hitting form, a high completion rate, and a good go forward
Still some things to work on though, especially our kicking game and last tackle options. I still think we look a better side with Lilly on the field tbh
Btw, anyone know why Cuthbertson was dropped? Perhaps the rumours of him leaving are true?

They said he wasn't injured but he only did 20 mins vs Wigan, 25 mins vs HKR. He hasnt looked 100% for a while and surely is carrying a knock and think he was left out to save him for later (he was 18th man if needed). We took Moon off at one point to wrap him in cotton wool but had to bring him back on when Keinhorst was binned.

| Professional, and ruthless in the 2nd half. Can't say much more than that, apart from Fev were terrible.
Ormondroyd looks to have some raw talent, but is some way off being the required standard.

| Promotion out of this "Sack-of-S*** 8's" division shouldn't be a problem for Leeds, especially when they get to play against what is in effect their de facto reserve grade team dumping ground.
Fixtures like these also have a tendency to highlight who the flat-track bullies are. Mentioning no obvious names of course.
Hope you all enjoyed the thumping win today

| but today's game demonstrated the gulf in class between Superleague and Championship.
Fantastic turnout from Rhinos fans let's hope the team believe that they owe the fans with another 6 competent displays.
The 3 x 8s are going to get loads of criticism this year, Wigan's demolition of Wakey followed by today's destruction.
Will fans turn out to watch these poor competitive contests?
Featherstone's ground put Wakey and Cas to shame. Definitely the best ground in the Wakefield district. Good luck to Fev for the remainder of the competition.

| Don't go falling in love with yourselves, you beat the 4th place championship team. Who scraped in at the last possible moment after a very up and down season.
Remember that you spend £1.8m on players, we spend £0.3m
You'll face tougher tests than today, although I expect you to go through the 8s unbeaten.
I'm happy with our performance, we weren't a million miles away in the middle, we just couldn't handle your awesome back line.
Most importantly, we've banked £100k or so. That's the cost of three quality players at our level.
Good luck for the rest of the season and please make sure you smash those cocksure Leythers.

| Tbf Leeds are going to be an anomaly with regards to the Middle 8. It's not going to happen every year that the reigning champions with a bunch of internationals are going to find themselves in it. As for Wigan thrashing Wakey.....the same fixture could've taken place under another system and resulted in the same score line. Should we get rid of the regular season because Wakey beat them 62-0 earlier in the year?

Neither looked OK really. If Baldwinson wasn't a Leeds academy lad on loan you wouldn't have even noticed his performance, thought he might run in with a bit of oomph but was tackled and dominated easily. Ormondroyd apart from one late run helped by everyone being confused about whether he was held or not didn't do much either.
Thought Luke Briscoe did ok in the first half carrying the ball back and forced a penalty when attempting a quick PTB reminiscent of his brother. We did score a lot down that side but it can't be blamed on him and whilst Watkins left him clutching at thin air for his 4th try, Watkins would've done that to most guys.
