As a Saints fan Jamie Peacock is a true Man of Steel for RL and will go out a true legend of our sport? Love him or hate him he justifies this 2 yr contract

I dont think there is any doubt he would have been a huge success in the NRL but he was one of the few Players at International level during his time against the SH sides that didn't let himself down and commanded respect from them each time he played which is why i dont think his legacy will be diminished because he never had a spell in that competition.

Brilliant signing. Along with all the other recent pack re-signings ( Leuluai, Kirke and JJB ) it amply demonstrates the Leeds club's commitment to its future and a desire to further emulate last season's huge success

Agreed. Some might argue the next point but out of the two I reckon he'll list above Morley when both are retired and the latter did go to the NRL.

One of the best props in SL last year - can't see why we wouldn't give him at least another year.

Age is just a number. He'll be the first to know when he's no longer cutting the mustard and I doubt he'll pull on his boots very often after that stage is reached - irrespective of remaining contract.

Does his retirement coincide with the proposed GB tour of Aus? I couldn't think of a more fitting way for JP to bow out.

I don't believe that his own pride will allow him to slip below the standards he sets himself. He'll know exactly the right time to hang up his boots.
Whenever that is he'll retire as one of the greatest ever to pull on a Leeds jersey.
I feel privileged to have watched him play for us.

Agree with the "age is just a number" approach. He was our outstanding forward last year, and one of the league's outstanding forwards.

He can drop down a level or two from that and still be good value for a contract. And I see no reason to think he won't be just as good this year.

Grayshon was from the day when older players slipped into the A team to aid the progression of the kids coming through. In Jeff's case, his hopeless son.

Didn't Jeff and Paul eventual play in games together?

They played against each other AFAIK but not together in the same team.

Jeff was many times better than his lad who resembled G1 without the skills.

Nobody could begrudge Jamie his extended contract - along with the renewal of JJB's contract does this show a lack of ruthlessness amongst the Leeds heirachy?
