| I appreciate the current coaching regime is going to cop plenty of stick over the next week after this latest overwhelmingly disappointing result and poor, error-strewn, indisciplined performance tonight. However, a few points in mitigation are in order...
[list1. Despite winning SL in 2009, it papered over a number of cracks which were already becoming evident.
2. GH was either being naive, or more likely economical with the truth when claiming Leeds had the best squad ever in 2010.
3. Re-signing the so-called 'Magnificent Seven' was a huge mistake, though thankfully two of them changed their minds and buggered off.
4. The CC Final of 2010 was a clear indication of a squad well past it's sell by date.
5. Who is Eastwood's replacement again?
6. Bluey saw the writing on the wall, hence his premature departure.
7. The loyalty shown towards Leeds players associated with past success needs to end now. They've earned sufficient rewards already. It's time to move on.
8. The return of Peacock and McGuire to turn it all around is not guaranteed.
9. Completion rates and errors are important.
10. The time has arrived to ditch this so-called expansive and entertaining style of CEO-inspired bollox.[/list:u
And finally... yes... the current coaching regime may also need replacing... to be replaced by one which actually coaches the team rather than being coached by the CEO!

When you are not deliberately winding people up you make some fairly relevant points!

To be fair to Jeff, from my observation he’s not made any genuine trolling attempts for a while. Yeah he’s put in some sarcastic posts now and again. But I’m sure he can be forgiven for the odd off post as we all make them from time to time. Some people just seem to have a lifelong axe to grind with him unfortunately!

| if you dont improve when you are at the top you will always fall back into the pack, it's much harder to win the trophies when you are starting behind several other teams
taking the cheap option to replace players, coach and even stand will come back and bite you on the - the fans will take the cheap option and not spend their money anymore

| McD needs to go. Think the rot set in along time ago and it is not all his fault but these players are not playing for him for one reason or another.
Decisions made today for 2012
Senior, Kirke, Bailey, Kylie, Webb, Ali to go at end of season.
Watkins to centre
BJB/Hardaker Full back/wing
Ambler back from Quins
Singleton/Amor. Brought in (Decision on Amor to be made this season) If not up to it let the lad go for 2012
GH to start recruitment NOW! for 2012 and not wait for a jolly to Aus at the end of the season. Substantial amount of salary cap released.
Start grooming youngsters to replace Danny, Kev and Robbie NOW.
Feel better for that knee jerk.

| Get rid of Bailey because of a few punches? He's been our best forward since he came back.
I feel the need slate Burrow down after tonight (I know, who'd have thought I'd ever have a bad word to say about him?) He almost had 2 try assists though with those great slow looping passes of his. Luckily for his outside players though they wernt hospital passes because he managed to find the grass behind them. 1 went for a try, the other almost. His try will no doubt make a lot of people believe he is the best 7 in SL though.

| Last season although we reached the CC final and got to within a game of the GF we never really looked consistently strong. There was far too many times that we won games with late fightbacks and most of the time it was a bit of magic from McGuire that was winning us games. Now he's not there to do it for us and no Peacock either and we look a totally different team.
Next season we need to make plenty of changes, hopefully the coach is gone ASAP so that the new coach can see out the rest of this year and decide who he wants to keep and who he doesn't but most of the players mentioned above will be out of the door hopefully.
We need a new halfback to replace Burrow IMO, he's been going downhill for a couple of years now and never looks like improving, he can have the odd good spell during games but most of the time he's a headless chicken. He's a one trick pony and teams sussed him out long ago, now he offers nothing. The pass he threw for the Lunt interception tonight just sums him up, it's typical of him. Running sideways and throws either flat or more often forward short passes, that one got intercepted but if a Leeds player gets to it they knock on. Time to send him packing along with Senior and a few others.

Burrow is the only player I would have out of the Rhinos team. It is not his fault, the forwards are not running in for him.

I was expecting this to be "provocative" drivel, but I was bored so I read it anyway. It;s actually not drivel though. I especially feel we need to steer away from 8. Although it was good to hear McGuire in the Premier Suite tonight saying he's only 2-3 weeks away, because a fit McGuire certainly wouldn't hurt, I don't think the addition of a couple of different players is going to make the difference. Making elementary errors has become endemic at the moment. The players making the mistakes are not bad players, but confidence is low and they look a shambles as a unit.
Huddersfield played a simple, direct, effective game, where the ball was shifted only once a platform was built. It isn't rocket science, it isn't anything new, but when you focus on things like execution and concentration it's bloody effective. And I think it's quite entertaining. RL isn't supposed to be like watching the Harlem Globe Trotters.

But it could be, you have just got to put yourself in a position to play that way, like getting the basics right, something we are not doing. I don't mind us playing an expansive game game but the basics have to be in place to do this, and at the moment they are not.

Anyhow, the current situation is too serious to warrant anything other than reasoned debate.

| I can't believe it i actually agree with most of what Swiftcorn has posted!
I will add that though that however bad the CC final performance was this squad should be and is capable of playing much better imo.
I've said all pre-season andthus far that Brian Mc needs or at least deserves the full season and the opportuinity of signing his own players and having at least the full squad at his disposal.
Now i honestly don't think(like some have suggested) that the squad are playing for him and it's reminding me of the lance era and worse in terms of attitude and application.
As for ins and outs the coaches apart from Gibson because i think he's doing well with u20's.
Playing wise Senior ,kirke ,Ali ,Webb(leaving anyway) at the very least to depart and IF we can find decent younger replacements then Kylie and possibly Cross.
As for Burrow i agree he's been poor but i'd sign someone to compete with him for his place and hopefully see him play behind a dominant pack before ditching him.
I do believe there's potential within the acadamy but some quality recruitment from outside is also needed.

Well the U18's have won 3 from 3 bit of a mix bag from U20's so outside recruitment maybe the only option
Not sure if Buderus on a 1 yr contract but add him to the list of outs, not based on performance but a massive wage on salary cap , but agree with alot of what Swiftcorn has to say
I'm not one for knee jerk reactions but BmcD days are numbered

| Swiftcorn's post is a thinly veiled jibe at GH, don't fall for it.
He's been unable to poke a stick at him for some years so now he feels safe enough to push his agenda. The Chief exec should not be judged by a run of results over 10 games in one season.
If you want to make a list like Swiftcorn has done you could try.
1. Rescued the club from Insolvency
2. Cleared the clubs debt
3. Invested massive resources into junior development with great success
4. Built the Carnegie Stand
5. Put in place the rebuilding of the Southstand.
6. Turned Headingley into a massively profitable organization with a turnover of more than 11 million. A turnover that isn't dependant on cup finals and on field success like, say the Bulls was.
7. Signed some of the most successful and longest serving overseas players in the clubs history
8. Presided over a prolonged period of stability on the clubs playing front with record club produced players enjoying testimonials.
9. Signed the players that have won the club more championships in the past 8 years than in the clubs previous 100+ years.
10. Signed the coaches that have coached those players to more championships in the past 8 years than in the clubs previous 100+ years.
Have there been mistakes along the way, yes. Have there been things that whilst not mistakes haven't worked out, yes.
However, the right man is at the helm and he's doing a fantastic job. Look around the league. Ignore, if you will, what is happening on the field at this time. These things are fleeting and cyclical. Which club is in better shape?

especially point 6
You could also add "Managed, improved and modernised the business assets instead of flogging them off to a supermarket to pay debts incurred by rash and ill advised business decisions resulting in the business actually owning very little in the way of any assets at all"
