| Apologies if this has already been mentioned, haven't seen it anywhere else yet though. Lots of talk on Sky's "Extra Time" show about Sinfield having copped a fractured cheekbone early on, but still playing through the rest ofn the game.
Firstly, if this is the case, fair play to him for sticking it out. However, they're talking about him possibly missing the rest of the season???? If he can play through most of the game with a fractured cheekbone, surely he can play through it again? If they rest him next week, can't see why he wouldn't be able to play in the play-offs - maybe with some kind of face mask?

Then pump him full of enough painkillers for an elephant and away we go.

| It might be an idea to wait and see what an x-ray might show before jumping to the same conclusions as the Sky commentary team who are paid to stir up controversy and discussion.

| Things like that are often ok on the day and worse later. Depends how badly fractured and how much it swells up. Might be a small crack and OK to play the rest of the season, particularly with a couple of weeks break likely coming up.

I think it was your coach who said it to be fair. If he's managed to play on with it I can't see it keeping him out

A Jason Voorhees mask would be quality! As long as it isn't a poncy Phantom of the Opera type thing!

They could have their suspicions but no-one will know how bad it is until its been x-ray'd and that might not be for a few days if its badly swollen & bruised.

| Way I saw it, McLennan was getting a "reason" in for resting Sinfield next week.
He didn't look very concerned and like has been said, why play him for the whole match if its broken?

| Off for a scan tonight/tomorrow for a suspected fractured cheekbone.
Not looking good I'm afraid!

| If his cheekbone is fractured then his season is done. The impact will most likely have numbed it, so apart from pressure around the eye he probably couldn't feel it. If it swells up and bruises it'll hurt like hell.
I know this from personal experience as I had my cheekbone turned inwards with a knee during a football match. Didn't hurt the day I did it. The next morning was hell.
As has been mentioned they won't know until he has an xray. I've seen players with odly shaped cheeks go for xrays and play the following week as they've not broken a thing. I've also seen players finish games with injuries and then be out for months.

I broke my cheek bone before, I also fractured my eye socket when I got robbed by some drug taking individual for a mobile phone and a disabled persons bus pass. I was fine when it hapenned (minus the swelling) it was the days that followed.
IMO if he has sustained this injury he's out for about 4 weeks. Like its been said, depends if he needs surgery etc.

| If it is damaged, even worse if it needs an operation, I just hope we don't see any "Matt Adamson" moments as/when/if we progress in the play-offs.

| It's a disaster really, I'd swap a 100 point loss for Sinny being fit. Who can replace him, his kicking game is vital to us

You play the cards you are dealt.
It is a big loss but if he is out, no point moaning about it as you cant change a thing.
Move Ablett to 13 and bring in Ali with Worral or Manning on the bench. Remember we now have Kirke back in and JP can play 2nd.
It is a big loss if proven but we just go again next week - nowt else you can do

No it isnt, Leeds are a better side without Sinfield slowing the game down, he was especially poor last night I though at shifting the ball when given the opportunity.

I think Leeds played at 80% last night and never really convinced which is a view shared by a number of respected people (Phil Clarke ).
Having said that a number of players were outstanding, Senior, Peacock and Ali were great.

| If Sinny is out for the rest of the season Leeds's chances of a 3rd Grand Final win will become very difficult. To lose our most influential and creative player is bad enough but to lose SL's leading goal kicker as well will be too much for the other players to overcome.
Did anyone see how his injury happened?

Clash of heads with Fa'asavalu maybe.
Leeds have competent back up kickers if need be so I wouldn't let that worry you too much. Leeds' top three kickers are all better than Saints' 1st choice.
