Wigan tweeted yesterday they'd sold just over 7k?!
I know the play offs are generally poor supporter but that's bad especially for Wigan.

Wakefield have nearly sold their initial allocation as well.

I haven't bought one.

Having taken just under 2k to Leigh away I would think wakey will take closer to 3k and maybe more to headingly. Should make for a cracking atmosphere.

and 9th? - We finished 8th, its not Wakefields fault that Bradford were in administration and got points deducted.

It's not the Bradford player's fault either that the club has been financially miss-managed over a lengthy period. Unless Bradford have exceeded the salary cap - and I'm not aware that they have this season - Bradford's results earned them 7th and Wakefield's results earned them 9th - a great effort as many predicted a fight with Widnes for the wooden spoon rather than a shot at making the play-offs.

That said Wakefield's on field performances earned them 9th and it's not really credible to dispute that fact.

It may not be the Bull's players' fault, but the fact is they couldnt afford the players that they had and they were apparently paid from next seasons sky money, advanced by the RFL ?

Erm... actually, no I won't be going to that game either. At the start of this season, I decided I was interested only in fixtures which actually meant something (that rules out the regular season fixtures in their entirety) against genuine competitive opposition where I'm not sure of the result beforehand (that'll be about 2 or 3 fixtures a season then).

However, due to unsavoury events taking place mainly off the pitch, I made a decision several months ago that the Stupor League product lacks way too much credibility and is fatally flawed in so many aspects that it's no longer a product worthy of my support on any level. I shall however remain openly critical of it until such a time arrives (and it will eventually) that the sport re-establishes it's roots and serves the interests of all clubs as opposed to just the chosen few.


I'm pleased that we've established Wakefield did indeed finish 9th. Long live Stupor League's rewarding of mediocrity. That'll be Leeds finishing 5th and being rewarded with a home play-off game against 9th placed whipping boy SL rabble where the result is not in doubt.

And nor was it the fault of players at other clubs that Wakefield failed to pay a £300,000 tax bill last season.

I don't quite understand how some Wakefield supporters can revel in Bradford's failings when their club cheated the league and the tax payer (and yes, using funds collected as tax to run your club is cheating) to such an extent.

Wakey fans current enthusiasm for the SL product due to being rewarded for finishing 9th on the ladder is a far cry from the negative outpourings about SL in general when you all thought your team was going to get punted last year.

The term fickle doesn't do your principles justice (assuming you had any to begin with).

Sorry old lad, but just because one may have mis-givings about the composition of the top flight, doesn't mean that you have to spit your dummy out and stop supporting your team

Thanks for the one-club supporter perspective. But I'm one of those rare breeds whose primary interest lies first and foremost in the health of the game as a whole. I would never purchase a full season of crap so why would I feel the need to purchase half a season of crap? I'm assuming you believe having to put up with half a season of crap is only half as bad as a full season of it? The reality is that it's still all crap.


That'll be every club apart from Wigan, Warrington, Saints and Leeds IMO. Hull FC shouldn't be but they still are. Catalan may buck the trend but they remain work in progress. The rest are most definitely whipping boy SL rabble.


If I was, I'd be happy about Leeds being current SL champions. Being champions of a mediocre competition whilst making a living out of being mediocre themselves for the most part doesn't really do it for me. Of course, it'd be helpful if they were challenged each week instead of having to play whipping boy SL rabble 3 weeks out of every 4.

I got a bronze membership which includes a free ticket and then a half season ticket.

i also opened a rhinos account for a free shirt and match tickets for a game.

William Eve isn't a true Loiner or Whino fan and not sure if he even likes rugby or even life. He just likes to moan and by the looks of posts probably a lot more than most.

So a team failing financially should not be docked any points, administration alone is full and fair punishment ?
Have a word with yourself man and be pleased that you are not among the many creditors who will not be paid.

It seems that your gripe may not be with the game of rugby league, just born out of fear of playing Wakefield

Any team finishing 6th, 7th, 8th and [size=1509th[/size should not be contesting any play-offs to determine who are SL champions.

So i think Wakefield are 8th, which is the reason you will have your poor relations for tea on Saturday.
Take a chill pill and enjoy the game.

If the rules state that points should be docked for a club entering administration then that is what should happen. If another two clubs (as was the case this year) benefit from a higher placing on the final table than they had actually earned on the field of play, so be it.

No-one should be in any doubt though that any club making the play-offs who otherwise would have finished 9th have not earned the opportunity with their own efforts but have been lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.

Ok I'll try though, the Bulls put together a side (one assumes at the top end of the SC or close to it) knowing full well that they couldn't afford it.
They budgeted to lose £100k per month or £1.2m over the year.
What they could or should have done was budget correctly, that would obviously left little for a star studded squad I grant you but none the less it would have been prudent.
This would have been appreciated by both the HMRC and the other creditors. It would have no doubt been appreciated by the staff made redundant and who knows in hindsight the fans too.
It would have also stopped the RFL from making yet another mess of things.
Had the bulls done the prudent thing they would not have been at risk of relegation, who knows some cracking youngsters could have been unearthed? Two things are for certain though, one is that they would have no doubt finished in the bottom place in SL and another is that once again SL wouldn't be making headlines for all the wrong reasons again.
I personally don't think it would be credible to dispute those facts.
