| I'm fed up of it, we've watched Briers do it for years, Leeds seem to want to do it and yesterday Catalans did it on numerous occasions, Elima, Ryles, McGuire and then Greenshields had to be told twice to go to the sinbin as he questioned the decision so much.
Time the RFL stamped it out ASAP before Rugby League turns into Soccer.

I disagree with every word of your post.
It's nowhere near as bad as soccer, and never will be.
Rugby league will not turn into soccer.
And what do you expect them to do, to ''stamp it out''?
You can get sent to the sinbin for f*cking laughing, ask carl ablett, that's a joke.
And besides, the refs come up with some truly awful decisions, they should be held accountable more.
Our players aren't emotionless robots. In the heat of battle if theres a gterrible call it will be questioned.

Nothing, IMO, Rugby League has an image where we respect the officials, yesterday and watching Leeds recently has been crazy, i remember a time when Iestyn Harris was being sin-binned and still said "it wasn't me sir, I didn't do it sir"

I've noticed various Saints players do it of recent.
The answer is simple, march ten meters, sin bin if it persists. It is down to the ref having a pair though.
The development of the Pre-Maddona's in RL has snuck relatively under the radar until this season. It is only a minor problem now, and will be very very easy to stamp out. All it takes is some stones in the middle.

If it takes penalising every player that does it and if they do it a second time in a game sending them to the sin bin then so be it but the message needs to be clear and consistent.

A simple Yellow Card will do the trick, Ben Thaler dished out a couple 2 weeks ago at Wigan and there was no more back-chat for the rest of the game.

The only part of your post I agree with, Cummings protects the referees too much, if they make a mistake, admit it and move on, the players make mistakes every week, i'm pretty sure that the referees if they admit they make mistakes they will be accepted
Quote ="J.I.M"Our players aren't emotionless robots. In the heat of battle if theres a gterrible call it will be questioned.'"
Why will it be questioned all of a sudden we've gone for over 100 years without decisions being questioned, why is it acceptable now?

Players are getting penalised for it, though. Look how much dissent leeds have had recently.

Maybe not national celebrity status, but they can be local celebrities in a way, and im fairly sure there are quite a few big ego's in SL.
Like CMR I'm worried about the increase in dissent and back chatting to ref's, but also something else thats steadily creeping is players diving at the PTB in an attempt to get a penalty, that seems to be happening more and more as well.
The dissent/back chatting is very simple to solve. The ref's need to penalise the first time a player other than the captain complains and then a sinbinning the second time. Would solve it very quickly. Would also solve the problem in soccer too if they did something similar.

| I agree with Cala. Make in unnaceptable now and we will never face the possibility of being anything like soccer. The bahaviour of footballers on the pitch is at time laughable, and that filters down to evey level and age group of the game. Football is a more "vocal" game than rugby, but no excuse (David Beckham challenging supporters the other day was truly hilarious).
Refs have to help, they have to tolerate genuine respectful questions and realise guys are pumped with adrenaline and might have the odd laugh or smile here and there, but the players have to shut up and get on with it (like they do most of the time anyway). A ref under less pressure from the players and coaches may actully be able to perform better - then everyone wins.
