It's been pretty much confirmed on the Wigan board, 100k plus Mathers. We have alot of cap room, more than Wigan have, and could have included Gibson in the package, Gibson is young, but by the time Gleeson would have finished Watkins would be ready to step up anyway!

There's a lot of talk about gleeson's"off field" antic's for a while he's hardly set the world on fire at warrington and maybe he was deemed not right for our tight nit squad.
I remember similar post's (me included) when wire signed king and morley and they haven't exactly blazed a trail of success have they??

Morley has comfortably maintained his status as an international front row forward and performed consitantly at the top level for Wire. He's also done it with remarkably few injuries considering the mileage he has under the hood.

He's been booted out of two top clubs. If that doesn't demonstrate his unsuitability nothing does.

He's been no better than peacock and imo he isn't worth the money or length of deal he's on at the wire!

Don't be ridiculous. We lost yesterday, and the only solution to such problems is to get the chequebook out and spend a fortune on a new player.

Give Gleeson a wide birth. As someone has said he has been kicked out of two top clubs. That suggests some problem.

Pity though because on the field he is exactly what Leeds are lacking, an attacking threat on the right.

Add to that his winger would be put into space where he can prove what a good finisher he is or should that be was on this season's showing.

What has Gleeson actually done to justifty his reputation since leaving Saints?

He hasn't been the best british centre for the last 4 years. This year suprising to me admitted, Senior is the form centre of the competition, and Gleeson was never as good as Senior at his best.

He might be what we need at present, but that is more down to the lack of quality centres around, than what Gleeson is.

He looked very good at times when I saw him play last season.
bTW I'm not suggesting we should have gone out and signed him I would rather go for Shenton.

I also like the look of the kid at Hull KR (Welham I think), but I guess that would be no different to giving Watkins and Gibson the chance.

I can definately see the GB centres at some stage been Shenton and Welham, unless Watkins shoots up the rankings very quickly.

Welham just looks like another Gibson to me. His defense is worse aswell.

Nope, not at all. And not even intimated it above. The lad looks the best potential around attacking wise. But his defence is pretty shocking at the moment.

IMO Shenton and Welham are ahead of him at present. But like I said, unless Watkins improves very quickly. Because if he does, he will be ahead of them.

i don't know but surely both are young enough to learn to play either side.

Whereas Donald is too old to switch. FWIW I think most players are naturally left sided and I wonder if that is why Shenton has been switched this season to make the most of his natural ability?
