I have met Stevo, Eddie, Clarke and Carney. They all seem good men to me but I understand we can't all agree with their views. Clarke. in particular, is a real gentleman. I'm sure Ray French and Eddie Wareing were good men too but they weren't popular either. What they have in common with the rest of us is that they all love the game.

I'm sure they're perfectly nice blokes. I think Stevo, for instance, did great work supporting the creation of the museum at the George hotel. Their passion for the game is not in question.

Their competence as pundits is all I'm questioning. They could continue to be perfectly nice blokes if they did something else for a living. Clurkey, for example, could be a market analyst for Barclays.
