Have to say I wasn't expecting this today and was initially a little shocked. I suspect Bluey's had some time away and had an opportunity to reflect and perhaps thought better to go now and leave in a dignified manner. It's going to be a tough start to next season without Peacock and McGuire and if we have the beach back we could end up with another poor start to the season - Bluey could probably forsee the scenario where he might end up sacked.
I'd like to thank him for the last three years and wish him all the best for the future.
Being exiled I watch a lot of Quins and I don't think McDermott has done too badly - he's had a weaker squad than most and horrendous injuries to key players to cope with. Whether he can do the job at Leeds (and I hope he can) only time will tell.
Maybe they have got their finance from the same people who do the finance for DFS, you know "no payments for the first year...".
Actually, scrub that, maybe GH has got a double glazing deal, you know the one, you buy one, you get one free. I said you buy one, you get one free....
The above article doesn't suggest to me that there is a huge amount of unrest behind the scenes or that McClennan feels bitter about his departure.
Quite the opposite.
I know that it's dangerous to believe everything that appears in the papers but IMV Bluey had no need to say anything about the circumstances of his departure unless to refute any suggestions that he feels badly done to.

If what I've heard is true then McClennan's departure is definitely to do with his family and not any kind of fall out with Leeds or Hetherington.
