James Child had an absolute shocker & gave Saints everything. Three of the first four tries off the back of clearly wrong calls.

Once the game had gone, Cas really dropped off & looked lost. Did the CC Final defeat really take that much out of them?

Is it that other sides have worked out how to close them down easily? Clark was anonymous tonight, Ellis in place of the departing Sneyd.

Cas were looking great but the bubble appears to haves burst, why??

apart from the ridiculous forward pass decision that went in cas' favour?
i thought child had a decent game tonight, cas were as poor as we were yesterday, can't blame the officials for such inept performances.

shame for cas that their season could end on a whimper, they have been great this year,but it looks like it's taken it's toll.

As a Saints fan a few 50/50 calls went our way i do agree. If you watch the game closely there is a number of incidents that go un punished for example Castleford on a number of occasions and especially Carney, seem to play the ball 10 metres from where they was actually tackled by moving off the mark.

You can't blame Child however it was Saints dominant defence that won the game.

I think Cas and Saints have a pretty lousy win record when Child is the ref. A few calls went our way, the biggest difference was Cas was always having to chase the game and came up with quite a few errors.
Your team looked a bit weary in the 2nd half and at post match Powell mentioned something about performances dropping off after the cup final, Leeds have gone the same way.

At least Cas have a decent following, unlike Huddersfield Midgets......a football town.

No one can blame the ref, a few dubious calls for each side, I just think Cas are running on fumes, the players look physically and mentally drained.

Just like Huddersfield the night before, the kicking game by Cas was lousy and they never turned the Saints defenders
A really bad platform from that meant there was no relief from defending in their own half.

that forward pass decision when tommy makinson went in at the corner was ridiculous...it was nowhere near forward...(the touch judges are a complete joke as well).i thought your lads looked tired and jaded tonight..apart from when u play us ive been shouting for cas all season...good luck in the next game!

It was forward, go back and watch it on sky the first camera live was on the same line and its clear percival passed it forward.

No where near forward on that angle, just look at Percys hands the way the ball comes out.

Is it hell forward, nowhere near, you do talk rubbish through your Wigan tinted glasses, I don't support Saints. Typical Hicks as a touch judge, wants to be involved, and gets things wrong. Child had a good game and is improving massively.

Regardless of it was forward or not, we were well stuffed and look lethargic. Here's hoping we can recover for next week.

Much prefer refs and their touch judges to give benefit of any doubt to the side defending when it comes to flat / forward passes. If more refs did this we would soon see teams making sure that they pass the ball backwards.

Not posted for a long time but after last night thought I'd share my thoughts.

Good solid start but never really troubled saints the whole game. Jon Wells summed it up at half time cas kick game was terrible, I think all but 2 kicks the whole game didn't go down the wingers or full backs throat.

We can complain about officials all night but end of day it's part and parcel of rugby league, some decisions go our way some don't - we gotta deal with it accept we were clearly 2nd best and prepare for next week.

I don't support either side & I called it forward right away. The players reactions show they knew it was. Child & his TJ's were very poor all night.

Has the CC Final loss & players moving on at season end broken the team ethic or whatever else was producing such great performances? Where has the team that won at Wigan gone?

IMO wrong on both counts..........Child had another poor game.......and the pass was nearly forward

i personally thought Child was a disgrace on the offsides especially the first 30 mins when Saints were virtually on Cas as the first receiver toook the ball , watch the game back and concentrate on that and you will be amazed how bad it was
