Powell can only work his magic for so long on players who frankly nobody else in the top 8 want. We have seen it before, in 2000 after a couple of good years signed the likes of Darren Shaw, Logan Campbell, Andy Percell etc.
At the time I wasn't concerned as we had Stuart Raper as coach...another coach who could get players playing above their talents. But the performances slipped, the coach left and the slow slide to relegation started.
Really hope history doesn't repeat itself...and hope the players we have signed for next season prove me wrong.
Ps As a season ticket holder for the past 14 years I think I am entitled to a moan every now and then

I'm a little bit like you duke.
I know we have signed ben Roberts, but he is 29 will be 31 when his contract is up.
Imo he is in his twilight years, though I do hope we can get a good 2yrs out of him.
Junior moors is the one I think will shine, under powell I can see him being a bit hit with the fans.
Then down to players coming in from London/Bradford 2 relegated teams.
These player are playing in a beaten team EVERY week, there morale will be rock bottom, hopefully and this is what I'm clinging onto, coming into a winning culture with the best coaching staff in SL imo, the so called average play will up there game with the guidance of daryl powell.
My only real concern is replacing daryl clark with scot moore. That's IF daz does leave.
Only time will tell.
