| Go on, someone enlighten me.
Also, £112,500. Really? Heads should roll if that is all we got for him. Did we send one of the cheerleaders to negotiate that? Wakey let Smith go for £100k and they're burning CCJs to keep warm.

| So apart from the Bobby Goulding Tweet yesterday when he stated that figure, where has it actually been confirmed? by who? (apart from the usual "in the know" mob repeating it, off course)
As for Steve Gill leaving Twitter, it's a shame and I would hope he returns. His contributions were good for the club.

When I start my sentence with "IF",it clearly shows I don't believe something (although I might with proof). And the rumours were not from "on here ". The figure came from Blobby Goulding quoting a source at Salford and seemingly resulted in the swift departure of Steve Gill from Twitter. Pete Smith at the YEP has also stated that he was told this was the figure received.
Perhaps you can provide some evidence for your scepticism for this figure?

It hasn't. But on the other hand, have you heard anything to the contrary?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the figure is right. Hell, I really hope it isn't. Chase is worth much, much more.

Spoke with Steve Gill this morning in Carlton Lanes shop - don't believe all you read, there could yet be a sting in the tail for Mr Chase.
Although Steve is no longer on Twitter, due to his family being upset by comments on there, he is contactable by email and he will reply - take it from one who knows.
Let's say thanks to Rangi for past services and some magical memories and wish him and his family well for the future...and then let's set about getting ready to give a proper Cas welcome to those who [iwant[/i to play for our team.
Let's give Steve, Darryl and Danny our support and look forward to 2014 - a massive year for us where Cas need everyone to pull together.

| I cant blame Steve for packing in on twitter, some of the comments aimed at him from Cas fans was well out of order, & also upsetting his family members, it really shows how gullible some people are, jumping down the fellas through because a numpty posted a figure he must have plucked out of thin air whilst swilling his next pint down. How does he know the figure when he isn't privy to the negotiations.
I don't blame the Salford fans for jumping onto their keyboards because it looked like the Dr had struck a real good deal for His club, it's a shame the good Dr didn't pay the debts he took on when he bought the club, instead of working out a weekly payment plan over the next decade or two.

Why should he of paid Wilkinson's debt outright? The main thing is the debt will be paid weather in 5 years time or not 4 million quid worth of debt is not a small sin of money.

| He took on the debts or did Salford go into admin, plus the number of years to pay them off was a lot longer than 5, & they were Salford's debt.

This has gone a bit O/T but is'nt the situaution with the Salford debts this :-
The Electrician has agreed, under the terms of the CVA, to pay all outstanding debts of the old company within 5 years, except for Salford Council's £1.5million loan.
Over the next five years he will pay back £240,000, 16% of the £1.5million loan to the Council.
The rest - £1.26million - will be spread interest free until [u2038[/u.

| I couldn't give a toss about it to be honest.
It's none of our business; I'm pretty sure Cas would like to renegotiate all of their debts into payments spread across until 2038.
