All gone quiet because we need a supermarket to buy Wheldon Road. In this climate, it isn't feasible particularly with a lot of supermarkets changing their strategies.

Unless contracts are signed soon, I wouldn't envisage much happening and I know there are already goings-on behind the scenes to start improving Wheldon Rd, starting over the off-season.

That's not the supermarket we were in talks with so no.

The Supermarket was Tesco's but they've put a stop to all new developments (or had done)

Don't know the current state of play but we were in talks with one and it was almost a done deal. Then the situation changed and they had to refocus their business and look at their strategy.

Until that was completed was like asking how long a piece of string is. The simple fact, as it is, is that a deal could just as likely happen tomorrow as it is in 3 years time. If a deal is done tomorrow then we would have to look at the figures and whether it would deliver enough of a new stadium/a new stadium for us.

Waystone have recently submitted an application for the renewal of the Stadium/Business Park approval.

I believe that they have also managed to gain substantial funding, through a section 106 agreement, from Taylor Wimpeys housing development, towards the cost of preparing the ground works platform for the stadium and business park.

A "Car Supermarket" has recently been approved on Whistler Drive opposite the stadium site, so another 100 metres, or thereabouts of the road may be built.

Every little helps I suppose.

They were always going to spend that money on doing the platform with a view to building any form of structure on it.

I believe that we've asked if we can keep the stadium site open for the next period just in case we do get the green light from the supermarket.

Of course they were always going to spend money on preparing the site. The point I was making is that they now do not have to spend as much of their own money (C.£1.1 million).

At the last CTSC DIrectors' Night (March, I think) there was a lack of agreement even among the Directors themselves as to whether the new stadium was still a goer. FWIW Steve Gill's view at the time seemed to be along the lines of "we can't wait, we have to improve WR".

However, the boardroom has changed a bit since then, so it'll be interesting to attend CTSC's second Directors' Night tomorrow evening. I'm sure this and other questions will be addressed.

Let's be honest. That last directors meeting was nothing short of a shambles.

It was mentioned at this week "Meet the Directors" evening (along with a lot of other stuff) that essential ground improvements would be happening in the close season.

Things seem to be picking up a pace or two in Tigertown.
