| Before I get hammered for been a Wakefield fan I come in peace! Great news on the playing front and will be great to see Rangi playing in Super league.
I think one of the fans quoted that if he went the funds would not be put back into the team but would help running costs. So what is the financial implications of him staying. I don't think it is a case of Steve Ferres deciding you can afford to keep him, more a case of he is under cotract so nothing else you can do.
If 5,000 members were required I wonder if this factored in Chase staying or going. Good luck and hopefully we will see both team playing competative rugby this year.

| Massive boost for you guys. Ellis, Chase, Shenton, Webster, Owen, Dixon ,Tansey is a quality back line who will trouble any defence. Then you will have a fit again Huby who was a top player prior to injury, plus you have Clark who is great. You must be getting a bit giddy at the prospect of your teams chances for next season.
Lets face it last seasons top seven will all again finish in the top 8. The other 7 all have the ability to finish 8th the team that does will have had luck with injuries ( my side Wakefield were just about injury free last year) and must have a great team spirit, again Wakefield were very good last season on this front.
I am sure that if the Cas players buy into the team and keep fit then they will have a good season.

| Great news on the playing front, also should help push along season ticket sales.
As good as Rangi is he does appear to need some reassuring and mothering to get the best out of him....question is can Millward provide this?

| No - Millward cannot IMO. Getting shut of him would also boost ST sales. Ian Millward is the weak link and I still cannot see us getting anywhere near the best out of our playing squad with him in charge.

| I have always loved to watch Rangi play and at his best he is almost UN-playable,but i am not ecstatic that he has come out on record saying that he has agreed to play the 2013 season at the Tigers
Hmmm now why would that be Rangi?
Is it because your dream move over to join the rest of the Cas lads at Hull FC couldn't be finalised due to complications?
Or is it due to the fact that your proposed return to the Dragons also fell through?
What a nice option to have by staying at the Tigers for a further season eh Rangi, you were clearly still under contract whilst you exercised your options to consider your future, and as they haven't come to any fruition you can now still pick that mega contract money up for a further season
I love a players show of loyalty to the Tigers, and us fans should be truly grateful of your decision

| It seams with some of our fans Rangi is damed if he gos & he is damed if he says we gave him the massive contract we have not stood by Rangi instead we tell him he can go if he can get a club Mr Ferres needs to make it clear to Rangi that he is wanted at Cas he is a game winner and for us he is not replaceable when he dos go it will be a long time before we see a player of is ability in a Cas shirt

| Pleased that we retain our star half-back. Looking forward to the new season now.
Ferres has always said we can afford to keep him and I believe him. What has he to gain by lying? He's been truthful in the meeting: he's no reason to lie.
Rangi leaving now could have been potentially damaging having to look for a new half-back with pre-season just around the corner. Not only that, it might persuade a few of the will we, won't we people to commit to buying a membership and backing the club.
Let's build on that momentum now.

Top post mate. I think Cas will have issues when the inevitable injuries come around easter time. I think our run on 17 is top 6-8 material. It's once we get into the rest of our (weak) squad that we will have issues.

| I just don't like the whole
"playing for wigan would be a dream"
"it's be a dream to play for Hull"
"Playing in the NRL would be amazing"
.............."I'm very happy to stay at cas"
doesn't wash for me. With a new child I think the Mrs has put her foot down and said she's not moving. I knew the girl from time ago... this is DEFINITELY not worth scoffing at.

| I'm just glad it's settled, for now, and we can get on with supporting him on the pitch next season.
TBH, I'd rather he'd gone - his head has been turned and he's been unsettled. Plus it would have released his wages for the salary cap. But he's here, he's ours and we should get on with encouraging him when he pulls on a Cas shirt.

| At least now we have a quality half back for 2013, if he is to move on in 2014 we have got plenty of time to look for a replacement and if he dos decide to stay beyond next year the club need to get strong and put a hands off notice and make it clear that he is a cas player and he is hear to stay

| Let's get one thing straight here as there seem to be some Cas fans that have very short memories regarding some of his boozy antics, and they were there for all to see too up in Ponte and at the Xscape.I have seen this guy in action and close to match day too and that is not what i wish to see from one of the highest earners in SL and probably the highest ever earner at Cas.
I totally despise what message this sends out to our other squad players and more importantly to our academy stars of the future about how to best prepare yourself for a successful SL career
Why is Rangi still at our club?
Simply because his other preferred choices of clubs/deals fell through and because he had the luxury of doing his window shopping whilst he was still under contract and on mega money too,Rangi could not lose could he not?
Once Rangi gets a chance to be off to pastures new then he will go without a shadow of doubt and that is why i wish he had got his move and we could have used his money to strengthen our squad with much needed quality this time around
These easily pleased fans and also the ones that are only too glad to applaud him for staying at our club will be back to vent their anger against the side and him very soon without a doubt, mark my words

| if you are going to condemn Chase for is boozing, don't stop at chase, because if you think he is by himself then think again, allot of Cas players are in the same boat, there as been a drinking culture at Cas for as long as i can remember, so don't just name him name the rest of his team mates, and why Chase is still at the club is that we cannot find a buyer & he has a 3 year contract .
We are a lot better with him in MY opinion than with out him , Cas brought most of what has happened on them selves, as the old CEO did not have the gonads to put a stop to it in-fact he did the revers.
As for short memories dos man of steel come to mind, so he cannot be that bad, Cas seem to be damed if he stays & damed if he leaves.
Most fans seem to be Glad he is staying, but if we all thought the same we would have nothing moan about,

He never said that, he replied to a reporter saying who wouldn't want to play for Wigan.

Pretty sure he didn't say that.

| it's a bit like the Shaun Lunt situation at Huddersfield. Saying he'd love to stay at Leeds but then playing at Huddersfield.
I think he does want to move, the best we can hope for is he plays to get noticed elsewhere. rather than turning out half d

If Rangi can recapture his for that has been missing since his suspension from the club for reasons only known fully by the player and the club he will be good for you next year. Add in the new signings you have made alongside the youner players and i think you wont be far from pushing the top 8 if you stay relativly injury free.
Whether rangi wanted to leave or not he's here for the next season so give him a chance and let him do his talking on the pitch.
