Predictions on where we will finish next season?

I for one am glad to see the end of this season, it will have turned many people that were either new and got fed up of watching the same crap and people that didn't know whether they were going to renew due to the economic climate we are currently living in. Hopefully we will do much much much better next season and could and should make the top 8. Your thoughts? I reckon 9th will be our position next season (optimism)

Presuming we are still stuck with Basil, I don't think that we will be out of the bottom three. If another manager comes in, then we might improve on that. I'm not generally pessimistic but we will not improve with Basil here. I fail to see what he has added to the club other than making us worse than we already were.

Very true I just think we cannot get any worse, 6 wins in a season is abysmal

Think I'm going to wait to see who and what we recruit over the coming weeks.

I think Bulls will be below us next season. Think they're going to have to promote a lot of kids. Salford look like they're struggling.

As a Wakefield fan I know exactly what a rough season feels like after it's fizzled out (thankfully this year we have been served up good viewing at wakey).

A few decent signings more and a new fitness/conditioner with his head screwed on will see you have a more successful year I think.

Get rid of Chase let Millward know his budget and get your team sorted quick then you may be ok next year The question you fans want answering is your club going to give Millward the money he needs to build a squad that can compete at S/L because if they don't you will be in for another bad season If you got another coach and he is given the money Millward gets would he do any better

Good luck in the off season but Millward will need money to get good players in and your priority is your ground not what the teams like

I see a difficult scenario ahead where deadlines dont mean anything and EVRYEONE in the world and I mean anyone with potential interest in Chase has now 4/5 months to try and get a deal over the line.

If they fail - we effectively have a player who doesnt necesarily want to be there, but has no choice.
Or worse, they succeed on 20th January, then we have money but no comodity of value in the market.

Next season, unless Basil has clarity on the budget I find it hard to think there will be much change - you have to back him or sack him - anyone with half a clue has to realise allowing the squad over the past 5 seasons to arrive at a point where so many sack it at once is folly, Basil had to handle Jacko, Raz, Danny, Jones, Youngquest, Snitch, Goldy all being OOC same time and with no planned contingency. That was poor contract management, on our budgets we dont have the flexibility others may.

Next season, plucky 9th but this time next year we will know if it is a plucky 9th in a development and improvement cycle or a dead cat bounce. For what my view is worth, the former.

I think all the money seems to have gone in to the new ground.

The squad is looking so small...if we pick up injuries we will have to turn to the kids/loan signings.

Bottom three next season unfortunately

Looks like we shall be bottom if we stay up. Can't see us winning as many as we did this year and I can see us making 10th at a massive push. I am hoping to not finish bottom. But hard to not consider that we might :/ Good luck next season !

Personally, I see you in the Championship, still playing at Wheldon Road and still bringing through decent youngsters (ultimately picked up by Hull FC).

I hope this is not the case, although I can't see any light at the end of the tunnel for you guys.

I like Cas, but 5 years time, I think they'll almost be forgotten about and left behind.

Probably correct unless something spectacular happens which isn't likely IMO.
We will no doubt keep on fighting for our SL lives over the next couple of seasons and either a) take the administration route and start with a clean-slate like some have/will or b) take a wad of cash from the RFL to merge with Wakey and pay our debts off that way - a bit like Hull/Gateshead or Sheffield/Hudds. Probably niether route would work for us and demotion to the Championship would be the best.

I see that Mr Pearson's arrogance is becoming a contagion.

Think you have got it pretty spot on there, maybe with a few more good signings we might make 11th but i am not optimistic.

Think you will have a better season next year but might take a couple of games to get it together with new players coming in.

Heard this weekend that we are looking at Stuart Fielden on a pay-as-you-play deal for next year. Don't know how reliable this is but not over the moon to be honest.

If you got him on a pay as you play deal I think it would be a good move. Minimal risk and if on form he is a good player and with that type of contract he will have to try his best to get a look in
