Richie has been made vice captain of Wakefield.

Obviously they see him as a long term signing, maybe we will offload him permanently at the end of the season??

I don't think we well ever see him in a CT shirt again.

I think most WTW fans would be happy if we signed him for next season - he's been great for us and by all accounts, has become a very positive presence in the dressing room and around the club.

Sometimes players and clubs just don't fit - maybe that was the case with Mathers and Cas.

I thought he fit very well with us - Millward/Richard Wright obviously didn't!

i think mathers is poop and a moaning swine but id still rather have him than richie owen i dont see what millward see's in him, put nick youngquest in with that and i didn't realise he was an aussie poor player what makes it even worse.

To be fair to Mathers he looked really good at the start of the season when we were on fire. It was when we had our backs to the wall and we needed experienced players like Mathers to stand up and be counted that he, unfortunately, went missing. This made him a scapegoat for the terrace and his form dipped even more!!

He's in talks with us about a permanent deal and also has "other options" according to the programme notes...

He is bound to have options. One of life's vibrant characters, has had good and poor form defintely a player who has cycles and peaks and troughs. Seems to be a player looking at club history that fell in and out of favour - there must be types of coaches he fits with and sadly ones where it goes south and fast.

Abso no hard feelings to be honest, didnt work out with Cas, want to wish a decent bloke and a good player all the best and good luck at Wakey.

I remember having high hopes of him when he came from Warrington but his form was very indifferent. I don't think it was just down to him though, it was the players around him as well. I think we should have kept him at full back this season with Owen playing on the wing.

There is no doubt on his day he is one of the best full backs in Super League and I think our loss will be WTW's gain if his move goes through. Be sad to see him go, and like others have said, I don't think we'll see him in a Cas shirt again.

Richie had his worst game of the season for Wakefield today with quite a few uncharacteristic errors.
That said he has been in terrific form here all season and I would love him to stay.

Deserves recognition as vice captain.

Whatever went on at Cas is your loss as class players always come good.

I remember his first game for Leeds and thought then that he had real potential.

I think the lack of competition at full back has hindered Richard Owen rather than helped him as in the few games that I have seen him play for Cas this year he hasn't really shown the potential that he undoubtedly has.

Class players do come good, Richard Mathers gradually brings more brain farts into his game as the season goes on, looks like that has started today.

Owen has been terrible this season...him being dropped last week and playing on the wing this week summed it up

He was ill on Monday apparently, not dropped.

Mathers had a shocker today, he did turn it around by the end of the game though.

Dixon's injury has probably stopped Owen from being dumped in with the kids for a few weeks , needs to get his confidence back asap.

Aye he had a mare.

But did well to recover from it though, especially with the pressure from the hull fans.
