I doubt he'll be missed, he only plays 10 mins per game.
Good forward on his day, for some reason he seems to have fallen out with cas.
I wish him all the best, i'm sure we can find a better forward for next year.

| Totally different player to last year, seems to have fallen foul to the current ethos at Castleford!! Some good young English lads coming through the ranks at other clubs, I would rather have a grafter such as Tuson, gives 100% every game!!

| Considering how little he's played this season I can't imagine we'll miss him too much. Sad to see such a decline in playing time (and impact) after the first year and a half of him being here, thought he was extremely impressive.
Best of luck to him and the family...

| good luck to him, made us more solid when we really needed him.
Looking at news on Sherwin, Mitch and other talk I hear - could it be that we are actually planning ahead for next season early? I know people will think I am mad for even suggesting it - but usually you see other clubs clearing things out early and planning....
it couldn't be, could it we are looking ahead? no?

| I already miss the Sargent from last year, so I guess when he goes I won't missing. Last year (and his stint the season before) he was brilliant, some great tackles, solid defence and good go forward. Him coming off the bench would lift the crowd and he was genuinely 1 of our better players. This year he's been the total opposite. Shame.

| He was our standout forward and player last season. This season he has totally gone off the boil. Would have liked to have seen him stay and regain his form, however i can understand his reasons for leaving. He was the type of player you would wish for in a team, solid in defence, never took a backward step. I would of payed some top money for keeping him had he not lost his form.
Good luck to him and his family.
Hopefully we can find another forward just as good (when he was at his best) or better for next season
Mdean i would like to think we are planning for next year and getting rid of dead wood to bring in quality replacements but for some reason (probably because it's Cas) i just can't see it

| Well with Sherwin gone and Sarge going, we now have a quota spot even though the allowed quota player numbers falls by 1 next season.
Personally, I think Cas and english rugby league in general are more than capable of producing good quality props, our next signing has to be an aussie scrum half with plenty of miles still on the clock but who????

| Tigers coach Terry Matterson said: "Mitch joined us at a tough time and his experience helped move the club forward. He has proved a great acquisition and has been a fine ambassador for the Tigers both on and off the field."
Has Matterson lost his mind? Do I not remember a conviction for drink driving whilst with the club? If this is the sort of behaviour expected from a "fine ambassador off the field" then Matterson needs to take a serious look at his morals and the difference between right and wrong. Unbelievable.

| James Evans is not classed as an overseas player due to playing in this country before the quota rules came into place.

McGoldrick comes off the quota next year AFAIK.
James Evans doesn't count. And you've missed off Dean Widders who DOES count.

| As a community based club, he lost my respect when he dis-respected our community by drink driving on the same streets that we, and our children walk.
As a player, he has lost his impact, his energy and effort has diminished, so it is rightly the time for him to move on.
Is it with immediate effect? or at the end of the season?

| Having spoken to Sarge recently when asked why he wasn't getting the game time he replied that he was playing with a dodgy calf, and had no energy due to a virus, could have been a fob off but he seemed genuine. Have to say the the guy seemed pretty fed up about it all! I for one am going to miss him on the field.

| Hopefully the club see all of these departures as an opportunity to take the team to another level in terms of player recruitment and are not just looking at the cheap option. How great would it be to see one or two really good signings along the lines of a Fitzgibbon or a peacock type forward and a Danny brough type scrum half? Although obviously we need more than one or two!
It’s been too long since we made a really exiting signing so let’s hope that our newest board member can help give us what we need.
Good luck to sarge anyway.
