| Ok... So how will we do?
And will anyone be back from injury? Widders, Ferres?
The 2 form teams in the league at the moment are Wigan and Warrington, and to be honest I think we coped quite well against Wire. With Ainscough not playing maybe there will be a spot on the bench for Thompson.
Prediction Cas 18 - Wigan 24
We have a good record against Wigan but I think they have a higher level of fitness this year that will just give them the edge.

| It's always a tough place for anybody and especially us to come to. We should have every player fit to choose from for the first time this season but I wouldn't expect any changes from our game against Hull.
I'd be more then happy with a 1 point win from this one.

| I would say, looking at injuries and who is likely to be playing for us that the bookies start for us will be 12 and we will either win on the 80, or the handicap won't be enough.
Sometimes, when luck is against you with injuries and the chips are down you scrape to an ugly win on adrenaline - Sat'd in France. But Wigan are not going to let us perform like Catalan did - so with a heavy heart I say Wigan by 20+.
Still, I will be there hoping to be made to look a fool....!

| Think we will do the same as previous two home games this season in that will go in front early on but let it slip. Although this time instead of being close Wigan will blow us away. Just think they are real contenders this season and will prove far too strong for our depleted squad.
Hope i'm wrong.

| =#0080FFI like to be optimistic but I am really not looking forward to playing Wigan or Huddersfield this season. I think these games, more than any others will be where we get shown up by stronger, faster, fitter players.
I would not be surprised to see Wigan by 30+ unfortunately.

It goes to show what a fresh coaching approach has done for the pies, same players as last year and Michael Maguire has them playing out of their skins.
Think we will compete for 60 mins then fitness will tell in the end, still dont think our lads our fit enough

| We will get absolutely annihilated. Even with a full strength squad we would do well to be within touching distance of Wigan this year, they are on fire.
I predict Wigan by lots.

| Ferres it out for another 10 weeks or so. There's no way he'll be back. As for others, Owen's out for season, Widders may be in with a shout although I'd expect it to be another week or two yet. Evans is the likeliest to return to action.

| Sherwin? I don't expect us to win but if we tackle well, complete sets then something like 20-30 Wigan isn't out of the question :\

According to TM we came though the Catalans game unscathed.
So there's no injury for Sherwin to come back from

| Imho Wigan are definitely contenders this season (I have tipped them for top of the league with Hudds/Wire/Hull closely behind)
I can't see it going any other way than a Wigan win by 20+
Although I hope we can scrape something from somewhere

He was off for the last 10 of the first half, and I'm not sure when he came back on in the second …
Why he was off though … that seems to be a bit of a mystery

Well the 2nd half of that game anyway. The 1st half they were good!
On paper, their pack looks beatable but they all seem to have stepped up a gear! Their backs were strong last year, and are just as good this year!
Could someone please clarify: Ainscough is on loan to us for 1 month which has 1 week left, but this was on the condiditon that he didn't play against Wigan. However, as he is still on loan to us, does this also mean that he can't play for Wigan against us this weekend either? If so, will he be in the Cas dugout as a spectator or the Wigan one (as his loan period expires before the next match after Wigan).

=#0080FFGood question, and I would guess that where he sits at the game dictates whether or not he will be extending his loan with us.
If he is training with us this week, you'd think he'd be sticking around. Anyone know whether he is or not?

He trains with Wigan throughout the week, only linking up with you guy's prior to your game.

That surely can't be the case can it?
I know it was the case with his loan at Widnes but he was on a dual contract there not a loan deal like he is at Cas. He also couldn't train all week with Widnes iirc because somebody said they're not fulltime anymore(not sure on that tbh) whereas Castleford are.
I'd be suprised if he's not with Cas all week.

So for the last 2 weeks, TM will have been going up to Ainscough and asking "Soooo..... what did you do in training this week? Learn any new set plays?"
Of course we would never use that info though would we.

It was on the Wigan Today site, however looking back through my posts on the thread below the article has now been changed to not include it so I haven't got a clue now.
Third post from the bottom.

My claim is backed up by a comment below the article on the Wigan today site.

He is at Wigan Monday to Wednesday so i am told going over to Cas on a Thursday Morning if they have a Friday game if not he travels over on a Friday Morning. So i am informed Also his loan spell should be extended with you on a month to month bases he is possibly with you all season unless we need him back.
