Solid news for our squad overall I like Wainy and I am ambivolent to Evans as I don't think we have seen the best of him this year- but the big news is in the last line and cut off in it's prime:

Seemed like a decent guy when I have met him, seemed to try hard and had talent, but like so many couldn't seem to harness that into anything positive.

genuinely nice bloke, not too long back me and a few mates bumped into him and he told us that he hoped the cas fans and board would give him time to pay them back for his shortcomings this season, sadly not the case.

I think it's sad to see him go but it's perhaps for the best of the club, best of luck to him in the future.

So Evans is off to wakey yeah?

Two good renewals, I would have thought a one year deal for Evans would have been appropriate with the quota cuts, although I suppose we will presumably lose Brent Sherwin, or heaven forbid Rangi Chase who is also out of contract at the end of 2009.
I do wonder if this Evans renewal has anything to do with the alledged Tony Martin/Brad Drew fiasco. I suppose this shows that you can't believe any rumours, no matter how "certain" they seem, as many people seemed to think it was nailed on.

So where does this leave Martin. I'm guessing Cas and Martin have now come to an agreement concerning the contract he signed ?

Or it was all nonsense?

Get out clause and Steve Snitch has also pulled out of deal aswell.

I didn't hear it myself, but from what TM apparently hinted at on a recent radio interview, he could be staying a while longer it seems. Really hope so.

Maybe cas and wakey have swapped contracts? or maybe there never was a martin contract with cas in the same way there was no evans contract to wakey?

Great news about Wainwright and Evans, always rock solid performers ...in fact probably our best backs over the 80 minutes at Wakey and on Sunday. Regarding Faumina, he'll probably go on to be a world beater somewhere but it was never going to happen at Cas and when you look at cost and contribution I think Clayton actually edges him.

Really happy with this Evans has been suberb for us this year and deserves a 2 year deal. Wainwright is a real unsung hero rarely puts a foot wrong.

Evans, IMO was our best player on Sunday so I'm really happy with this

James Ford looks as though he's signed for Widnes for next year, i realise he hasnt had a great deal of game time this year but what are your thoughts on him?

I think they're were rumours in one of the rugby papers a few weeks back that he was signing for Leeds. But, I could only see it happening if the Eastwood deal falls through.

Not looked out of his depth, has played wing and fullback for us with few errors (the ones he has made have generally been at fb) and has a lot of pace good signing for you guys.
