im a salford fan but im giving credit to rhangi chase i think in every game he has been your leading player, to come from a virtually unknown player that nobody knew anything about him he has had a superb season and is probably one of the best half backs other than dobson in this country at the moment, castleford are a team that has impressed me greatly because of the youth and well assembled squad, matterson has gotta be one of the challenging coaches of the year with justin morgan, he hasnt gone out and signed massive names on massive money and look how well he is doing, well done castleford and matterson hope you win something you deserve this year!!!

Thanks for that. If it's any consolation I actually think Salford did as good a job of containing him as anyone has so far although you did have a bit of help from the conditions. There are parrallels between us last year and you this season so you could kick on in 2010. Good luck.

Well I'm from Wakefield and I agree with most of this so it looks like you can praise another team, even if they are your local rivals.
Youth - Tick, players - tick, attendances - tick. Personally, the bit I don't agree with is how good Matterson is. I'm not saying he's bad but he's just not my style and I think Cas could do better.

Overall, I like the fact that Cas and Wakefield can have a local derby to decide who finishes highest in the play off places rather than who will finish at the bottom.
For all the banter, I like playing Cas (and of course beating them as mucha s we can - isn't that the point). The rivalry is great for both clubs like it or not.

Sorry mate. It's just we get a lot of unfounded claptrap on here from other teams' supporters who make out that Cas fans are overhyping their team, especially the youngsters or those who have been thrust into the limelight in the media, and instead of revelling in their own teams' performances seem to instead get their kicks out of trying to belittle the skill and efforts of some of our (especially young) stars.

Thanks for the compliments and the appreciation of the talent we have at the club. The responses you've had are mainly tongue-in-cheek digs at the trolls we get on here. Salford are in pretty much the same position as we were last season, and I'm sure that you'll be more regularly competitive next season. Bomber's a decent coach and I hope you have some good days in front of you.

Very good post, shows many from both clubs that you dont hav to resort to trolling and insults when talking about other clubs. if you dont rate matterson fair enough, i'm quite happy with him being as our coach as he has been the most succesful since raper and has got us back to being classy cas again.

IMO the only coach I'd truely rather have atm is Kear, but then again i've always liked the guy.

As for Chase, we need to pay the lad anything to get another 4 years from him but it wouldn't surprise me if in true tigers fashion we didn't give him what he wants, hope they prove me wrong though.
