Whats the latest with J32?

A few fans last fri were really down on the prospect, any reason why? has your club said anything definative recently?

Really hope it comes off, I love the derby games and love the rivalry our clubs share (when its directed in a positive manner), it's great to see these great battles take place at the right end of the table too!

Will be even better when we have 2 brand new grounds to play them in, regardless of who's is owned by whom and who got there's up first!

As far as ours goes buy a WE tomorrow or take a look at the links from our board, big news due in the morning.

Interesting thought - I've seen no mention in any of the reports people have linked to, of how the project is going to be financed.

There is a shareholders meeting called in two weeks times, I think more details will be let out then.

I don't understand all the bickering, Wakefield need a strong Castleford presence and Cas need Wakey. Surely we won't both sides to do well as they are this season!

I don't know for sure, but I'd suggest two things that might help but I'm only making an informed speculation .

1: One of the partners is perhaps a Supermarket and as we know they generally have the clout and the resources to make it happen THIS IS JUST MY THEORY



2: BV is an easily saleable piece of real estate which already has full planning permission with no blast zones etc and could basically be redeveloped immediately.

Seriously, it's still just a paper plan at the moment just like yours. Just like I often say about your project I to will believe it when I see it, but it's a lot better than where we were.

No he won't, I think you have totally the wrong end of the stick here. He won't put a penny in, he is the facilitator and will bring together those who will. In this he has a proven track record.

A trust will own it, but a trust owned by the developer to the most part.

What I have noticed is how close that site is to Castleford, anyone want to speculate

WTF, with time ticking until the next franchise submission would it not be better to get something that enables an A Class Franchise (i.e HJ, basic but neat), but with the option to expand. Rather than wait on additional funding only for the clock (and supporters patience) to run away from you?

As far as WMDC go, i can understand people getting frustrated with them, they do want facilities at J32, but to what degree they don't know, and need suitable research, which takes months & years!
We went down that garden path with them, they took our private venture and snowballed it into something both tempting and controversial. they set us years behind where we should be now. cas fans beware.

Not fully up to speed with all thats happening.
But if Wakefield are building a community stadium - this may suggest,other facilities will be at this development,eg swimming pool.It also seems very close to the Cas site,would seem odd if community facilities were put at two separate developments 2 junctions apart.
But only time will tell.
