=#8000FFThe person who told me thinks it's going from the other side of the stadium near the Ford garage etc to ease congestion at the round about there (which he also said is being changed, as well as the road in front of McDonalds is getting redone, thankfully seems at the minute it's terrible). Or does it go all the way from Cutsyke to the Ford garage?'"
All the designs have been done. There won't be a road around the back due to a) the motorway and b) there been no room. Look on Google maps and see if you can try and negotiate a road around the back. The road will come off the normal roundabout for Xscape/Freeport, 2nd turning up Whistler Dr and then connecting up to the roundabout at Cutsyke.

| So, will the new road be built along the motorway from the new cutskye roundabout?
I can understand if this is the case, away fans who wish to drive to glasshoughton will get off the m62 at j31,
turn onto the normanton industrial estate and then use the new link roads to get to the cutskye roundabout.
Makes more sense than another road off j32

| Main route for home and away is via jct31 to the new roundabout at Cutsyke from where a new link road will lead up to the Stadium and the road back down to the roundabout at KFC/Xscape. This roundabout is to be partialy closed off to form a large Gyratory junction with Pizza Hut/ Mcdonalds in the middle. I'ts there for all to see in the plans on Wakefield MDC Planning site .

This in information coming straight from someone who has spent a hell of a lot of time over the last few years working on the roads into and around the area and worked on the land where the stadium will be when they started flattening it out.
Just because you say it's not happening it doesn't make facts coming from employees of Waystone sad or wrong, you don't know everything like you like to think: you don't know the finances of Cas, Westerman isn't the most over rated player in the whole history of any sport ever like you like to tell us and most important of all, unless you work for Waystone and have been told different then the people who are working on the stadium project, your opinion is in fact, worthless
=#8000FFThe person who told me thinks it's going from the other side of the stadium near the Ford garage etc to ease congestion at the round about there (which he also said is being changed, as well as the road in front of McDonalds is getting redone, thankfully seems at the minute it's terrible). I never said anything will or won't happen - I don't know and neither do you, live with it and stop creating scenarios to suit whatever fantasy you have at the moment.
Both developments in a state of flux and nothing is certain - end of.

i didnt relise this to be honest and i have to say i would have thought the land would have been worth much more than that, but i supose that because BV is in what you might call a very ethnic area this could be the reason for the low value

It was a serious question because I was expecting an announcement about the architect by now.
or could it be like some people said from the outset just a stunt to buy time ?

I obviously mean that the council have validated the plans as an application - not that they have been passed. That I think will take a little longer than the Wakey fans all beleive.

There have been delays with that due to various meetings.

| Here you go, my email box had this
We've come a long way Thursday 4th March 2010
I wanted to use the first entry in what will be a monthly blog to give you an update on the progress of our new stadium project.
A major aspect of the project was gaining the outline planning consent. This resolves the Highways and Environment issues which can be major, time consuming obstacles. It is important they do not slow down this important community project.
There’s no doubt that the project is very challenging and complex but we are working continuously to move things forward and I remain extremely confident that the time, effort and finances already committed will be worth it, resulting in the delivery of a high quality stadium for Castleford Tigers.
Last week I attended three stadium meetings, the most significant being a meeting of all the parties involved in delivering the project. In attendance was the Leader, the Deputy Leader and the Chief Executive of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council as well as several senior council officers. Stuart McLaughlin, the Managing Director of developers, Waystone PLC was also present.
This meeting was designed to discuss the key issues in relation to our development strategy and we all left the meeting with action points and responsibilities to achieve before we gather again in three to four weeks.
This week we are focusing on delivering on our action points and responsibilities so that we can demonstrate significant progress at the next meeting.
I would like to make it clear that everybody involved in the project understands the challenge of delivering the new stadium within the right timescale but the good news is that everybody is extremely committed to achieving this.
It is also worth pointing out that the location and site of the project is one of its real strengths. The architects who are in the frame for the design project can see the opportunity it gives them.
The landmark location and its visibility from the M62 motorway means that interest in the project has been extremely high and we believe this will bring the venue and the Tigers some strong commercial benefits.
Recently Xscape reported their 20 millionth visitor to the centre making the site one of the leading leisure destinations in the UK. It is very encouraging all round.
There are certain aspects of the development that we cannot yet make public and this is frustrating for us all but – when the time is right - we will ensure that the fans are the first to know about the key facts and events.
Please stay signed up to castigers.com and we will keep you up to date with all the important Tigers news.
Finally thanks for your tremendous support of the Castleford Tigers...the club would not function without its supporters.
All the best.
Richard

Not for the next 7 months it ain't, any diggers or trucks will struggle in the nightmare that is the roads around xscape because of the relaying of the road surface, however, i don't think this will be an issue as we wont see any movement in that time sorry for being pessimistic...
Only joking, the location is great, but just though the other day that the traffic problems we are currently having in the proposed Stadium location, is another nail in the coffin for the project.
lets hope it all comes good in the end.

| Not much news then...can see the monthly blog going something like...meetings blah blah...everyone commited blah blah......keep signed up to the website to hear nothing else next month !!
Was extremely positive leading up to christmas with the opening of the unit at Xscape and the architects to be annonced before the end of year etc etc.
Now seriously worried that we're in March and other than may only be two sided initially we have still yet to appoint the architects yet alone be close to applying for full planning !
Am I right in thinking that if full planning not received by November then will need to start all over again ??
Someone please tell me i'm letting my pessimism get the better of me and it's all good.
