Yes Drew may be a class player, but lets face it, hes not going to be a spring chicken for much longer his he.
We should not be looking for a quick fix, we need to be looking at the future and building stability in our squad...i.e someones whos going to be around for a bit.

drew is a decent player and would be a good interchange hooker with hudson. however if we are gonna pay him 120,000 wheres that money come from?

Increase in budget plus release of other players. But like I said, to think we'd release 2/3 players to cover the wages of one player is unthinkable. Think it's just rumour mongering by the Wakefield clan really.

Are you telling me Newton is no good!?? Appreciate he is not everyone’s cup of tea, but he has plenty more left to offer, and as a result of getting him (and not keeping drew) we have managed to get Tronc, which is a great acquisition by the club.

Newtons lost any pace he once had and seems warn out after no time at all.
He doesn't seem able to make it back the 10m after a tackle and smart teams can target that.

Newton is not on alot less than drew, other way round.

If either come to Cas, I'll support them 100%. However, the simple fact is that both players are past their best.

As for the thought of rotating a player on their reported wage, it is like paying 4x for them. (twice the typical wage, for half the match time). Hell of comprimise to accomodate a player at the back end of their career. But don't we always do that!!!

What about bringing some young blood through from the academy? We keep getting some good results from them, so there have got to be some good play makers there, which could be paid less than half the cost, and give us a foundation to build on. Rather than a player for a couple of years to patch up the position, and then start again in 1 or 2 years.

And hopefully he will keep passing to widders!
