Sounds like the two stadiums will be in different sorts of environments, Wakey's in a more industrial area with warehousing and yours in the middle of more entertainment facilities. As long as there is rugby on a patch of grass, I don't care what it is like outside the ground. Good luck to both clubs. I would rather have two viable grounds than one shared.

I will accept the argument about facilities though when I saw Cas fans on the terraces holding a pair of skies, ready for the slopes after the game.

I think most people would just use the ones the ski slope provide rather than take there own.

Me personally i aint a skiing man, will be usiing the cinema, bars, food outlets, bowling and lazer zone before and after the games though.

The Xscape complex is absolutely great and is a real jewel in the Castleford WMDC crown.

IF/When Cas build their stadium there it will be one of the best venues for away fans to visit and really make a day of it.

I'm reminded of the Denby Dale Rd proposal in Wakefield when all sorts of leisure activities were planned to compliment Pugneys Water Park and the Nature Reserve. I wonder if that had gone ahead would Xscape have been built there instead of Glasshoughton? Whatever, anyway I'll certainly be using the ski slopes again, been there a number of times and loved the experience so much that my next holiday is a ski trip for the family.

I take it you dont use these fantastic facilities' at the moment then?

Seriously, these are crucial times for both clubs, and due to the sums of money involved and the current economic climate I feel that virtually all who post on this forum myself included are now well out of our depth. I suspect even Ted Richardson and Richard Wright have very little say in what happens next and are basically riding the wave. There are some big hitters involved, certainly in the Wakey development and they are not the kind of people who let things slip down the local.

I personally feel that both stadium development have long since moved from the grasp of the average fan no matter how well informed they feel they are.

For once I agree with you regarding the stadia - but it's good that there is positive news coming from both clubs.

I think much of what I have said in the past has come true IMHO. That said I know when I'm out of my depth, and I have certainly lost the plot on both clubs in recent month. All I know is that the whole thing has escalated way beyond us mere fans and I just plain don't know enough anymore to pontificate how I once did. I miss it

Not sure if I am right but....I have read that the new wakie ground is due to cost around £19 million and that they are hoping to get around £12 million from the sale of belle vue, but did sainsburys not buy the land off them a few years back?!

Ground has been sold for about £2.7m. Stadium is funded by the land the council has loaned the trust and the extensive development surrounding the stadium.

Less than 12 months to build a stadium? I think that's VERY optimistic.

Where do folk get this rubbish, as KK says the ground has been sold as part of the new development.

1: Why would Sainsbury's want a site like BV?

2: If BV was worth 12 million

we would be able to build our own new ground.

I think the sliproad around the back of B and Q is very optimistic, especially considering it's built right next to the motorway and there's no room.

New road is to be built from the roundabout next to the motorway at the top of Cutsyke. Supporters (mainly away) will be directed off the M62 at J31 to use the bypass from Normy Industrial estate & access the ground from there. The main stand will be facing that way.

This in information coming straight from someone who has spent a hell of a lot of time over the last few years working on the roads into and around the area and worked on the land where the stadium will be when they started flattening it out.

Just because you say it's not happening it doesn't make facts coming from employees of Waystone sad or wrong, you don't know everything like you like to think: you don't know the finances of Cas, Westerman isn't the most over rated player in the whole history of any sport ever like you like to tell us and most important of all, unless you work for Waystone and have been told different then the people who are working on the stadium project, your opinion is in fact, worthless





=#8000FFThe person who told me thinks it's going from the other side of the stadium near the Ford garage etc to ease congestion at the round about there (which he also said is being changed, as well as the road in front of McDonalds is getting redone, thankfully seems at the minute it's terrible). Or does it go all the way from Cutsyke to the Ford garage?
