Absolutely the only problem is, there is nothing to talk about with your new stadium. Its not happening at the moment unfortunatly.

As much as I would like to see Cas with a new ground If it doesnt happen I wont be loosing any sleep over it. The only remark I have made is to ask that juvenile if he fancied a move to Methley. Why that should upset you only you know. Perhaps the fact that something might be happening regarding our ground and there is nothing comming out of your club regarding your new stadium might be dictating envious feelings' towards anything Wakefield. Understandable really under the cicumstances.

I did not know that you had asked me a question and as for bitching I didnt know that I was. All I have ever stated is you have a funding gap, nothing more yet no one seems big enough to admit I may have been right no matter how obvious it is - I assume just because I said it. Ditto Westerman, it's just an opinion which some Cas fans take personally. People should read the posts I put before the become defensive and over react, that of course will never happen.

I think Cas have been hugely let down by Richard Wright - but again that doesn't make me a Cas hater.

Due to my involvement with SWAG I have been lucky to be in the loop for the past five years as regards Wakey and WMDC, as a by product of that I have received some, not all, but some info on Cas which I have shared with you - if that's agenda ridden then so be it.

I can tell you this much, I'm no longer in the loop out of choice. However I still get updates. That said in the last 5 month I've found out nothing, whatever is happening at both clubs they are serious because no one is talking. Sure some people on both forums seem to have bits of the picture but despite what they think they don't know the full story, in fact they know less than me and I have half the story at best. I have never known Trinity as secure as this on info as they are now.

Good bit is I can speculate now without breaching confidences.

Daz FWIW I think the following is happening. Both clubs will receive no Council funding and will have to persue private developments. Neither club has the cash to uphold their part of such a deal. The only people who can bridge the gap are WMDC. As was stated in council meetings I attended and are minuted for public consumption Mr Box stated catagorically WMDC will not use public money for either club.

So what I think WMDC are trying to do is create some sort of funding mechanism for both clubs which does not directly involve the Council. However said mechanism will allow the council to drive the projects without actually funding it. I won't speculate as to what councils can bring to a development other than cash, but it's a lot as you can imagine.

The main aim of the Council IMHO is to create an environment where the projects are so attractive and viable, any cashed up developer of which there are still a few would be foolish not to take it on.

This will remove a 5 year old thorn from Mr Boxes side without him having to answer too many awkward question yet still look good - he is a politician first.

Again this is utter speculation - but it's logical IMHO.

When did work actually start? I was under the impression you needed [ifull[/i planning permission before any work can begin.

Groundworks started last year.

I haven't inspected the site personally, but I'm told that there are no groundworks as such. What is in place is purely basic road, utilities, drainage, power etc. These could be used for a stadium but equally for a factory or a supermarket. Calling these groundworks is IMHO pushing it a wee bit.

However you are further than us because you have a site earmarked and that site is now served by road, power and water - which is a position I would't mind us being in.

Money is your ONLY issue - but it's a biggy!

Full planning permission on this site is a rubber stamp job and has never been in serious doubt.

TBH he implied nothing of the sort. Any implication that they were for a stadium came from your good self. The question was asked: "When did work actually start?" to which the reply was given "Groundworks started last year."

The only implication that a stadium was to be built on these groundworks came from your good self.

To be fair, they took some bloody years to get started!

They had to flatten the land pre-Christmas. They then stopped for the winter, and work has or is expected to commence again now.

What work will they be commencing with? Without Full planning permission no work can start on any kind of stadium structure.

Like vastman said, I know full planning permission will probably be a formality but if there is no real problems with the funding etc, why didn't they put in for full permission just after the outline permission had been granted?
It must of been over a year since the outline planning permission was granted which makes me think things are not running to plan.

Given that (rather than a supermarket or a factory) the current intention is to build a stadium - as is clearly evidenced by the published plans, the planning applications and even by signage at the site - then it's not really stretching anything (except perhaps your capacity for logic) to say the groundworks are 'for the stadium' is it?

Nah of course you're not, there's absolutely no reason for anybody to hate Cas or any other RL team for that matter. Anybody who does has clearly lost their way in life.

This tat for tat nonsense about stadiums shows no signs of abating though and I doubt it will until one club wins the race outright or we both get shot to $hit.

I know you have your critics on here, but the the large part I think what you have had to say about the stadium situation has not been too negative or took an anti Cas stance.

Obviously as the Cas club choose to treat the fans like mushrooms, I couldn't say for certain what the reality is or isn't.

I'll tell you what though, i sincerely wish all this stadium crap would come to an end one way or the other... it's bloody draining and gone on for far too long.
