| Before your rant, can you kindly tell me where I either a) said Wakefield or b) implied Wakefield.
FYI, I wasn't even referring to Wakefield........
PS. Because journalists to an extent don't go out their way to find facts they take the standard press release and believe it to make something controversial.
Then other people, in turn, then believe said comments as fact and try to make more of a situation without no basis of reality. And you really need to get over with this idea of us getting onboard with Newmarket; it ain't going to happen and SF even openly admitted at the Civic Centre that he had not even contemplated the idea.
Time for you to forget about that idea once and for all.

| Even as a Cas fan, i'm sick of reading your devout Cas drivel in every topic Fully. Get with the times and realise Cas are awful on and off the pitch. Years of mis-management and lies.
We do not deserve to be in Super League and we'll be at the bottom of the league yet again this season.
Poor poor poor.

You implied Wakefield, deny it all you want, but with your posting history it's pretty clear who you meant.
Like it or not but in many eyes we are the weakest two. With considering the improvements we've experienced I feel is more than slightly unfair to us!
I know the notion of having your future limited by the opinion of the RL public (which could be slightly wide of the mark) is harsh, we experienced it. All I'm saying is that with every step NM takes you will appear to be taking one to the opposite direction. Wait & see. This can create a "defensive mentality" from your hardcore fans, you already see to an extent IMO.
As far as CT at NM goes, if that's the way you want to play it, fine by us. But I wonder how you'll feel in 10 years if it brings the planned benefits. As I said if you're happy, we're happy!
To be honest I'd always thought the climb down you (fully) would have to make to accept NM would be insurmountable. If CT did go I dare say you'd be off to watch wendyball instead.

| Quote ="TrinitarianWF2"The number of issues you can "lord it over" us with have all but evaporated, in fact I'd say we're superior to a few on a number of points- just like you. If someone's going there will be "for" & "against" both in any call the RFL make. A lot may come down to good old league position. Good job you've got someone like Basil & plenty of cash to throw at him/a successor if needed, eh Fully!
A number of years ago when J32 looked dead set we suffered in a number of ways because of a shift in the RL public's opinion. I think you may experience something similar with every step NM makes. Unless you get on board ASAP. The longer it's left the more weight the "anchor tenant" tag will have.
In all honesty, it's as neutral a location as we're going to find, it has an "in progress" enabling development, chances are you'll be using the training facilities- why not get all in? It all makes sense.
As others have said the time for slinging has gone. I hope we can all think seriously about this.'"
That must be the most desparate call for CT to "come on board" that I have ever heard from a Wakey fan. Well done.

No, you jumped in with both feet and assumed that. I never implied anything at all.
I think Salford are considerably weaker than both of us. Shiny stadia doesn't mean you meet all other criteria.
And FWIW I already watch football, hence the Ipswich logo in my avatar.

I think you will find Fev have made it quite clear they will not be playing any games at NM. CT need to do the same IMO.

| Guys come on.
One post by someone with a Rhino as an Avatar has caused 7 pages of bickering.
No one wants a ground share at either club. There is nothing to argue over.
I'm pleased Wakefield have taken a step forward but it is just that, a step, not the winning post
I'm pleased that Cas are looking at developing their own ground as I like it and it would be perfectly suitable in my opinion.
But in actual fact, neither has a new or developed stadium yet so talk of sharing is premature.
Rather than bickering I'd prefer to argue amongst ourselves about who is the best team and have a united front to the rest of the league and tell them to "love" off. They have no say in whether we share a stadium or not.

Well said Pop Tart
I think a lot has changed since the last round of franchises when both our clubs were staring down the barrel. First we had an expansion club go to the wall, then a big city club with a lot of recent success go into admin and is propped up by the impartial RFL and now Salford in trouble...shattering the SLE myth that shiny new stadiums are a guarantee of club stability.

| Just out of interest, who is on the community trust board?
I would assume it is a board made up of fully independant members who have/are nothing to do with any sporting club from this district. Maybe i am wrong but would WTW be happy if Richard Wright was on there? Same as if Ted Richardson/ Rodney Walker were on the board from a Cas/Fev point of view. The whole point of a community trust surely is for the best interests of the community....therefor the board members should be wholely independant.
However congratulations to WTW, a big step has been taken and hopefully the last few hurdles will be jumped easily.

As I said in an earlier post, the treats are much more diverse than lack of stadium, rather than be the "be all & end all" it was it could be just another nail for either of us. Reduction in numbers & expansion in France could be just as devastating as being removed for lack of progress with stadium issues.
If you want we have a range of new terrace roofs for sale, should be ready for delivery September 2014. It's about all we own on BV to be fair!

I would imagine it is made up of people with an interest in the project and ones wanting to make it a) happen and b) a success.
So the likely hood of Richard Wright or anyone from Castleford Tigers having been on it are fairly remote I would imagine.

Like stadia, league position is one part of the criteria. Not only that, it is not based solely on one year.
Salford are having financial difficulties. They have today rejected a further loan of £750k. They have been served with a winding-up petition. They don't fill their stadia.
Cas comparatively although things have been tight, have been relatively fine financially. Although we lose money, we are not haemorrhaging it to the extent that other SL clubs are posting losses. We have a clear player pathway and bring youth through. We also contribute to England and England Knights. We have bigger attendances.
I firmly do not believe that licensing will continue and that we'll return to promotion and relegation. It could be that the clubs at the bottom of season 3 (i.e. 2014) are relegated, or it could be done like licensing on the top 12 teams. Either way, I still think we're in top 12 teams and had we started building new stadium we'd have been a grade B licence last time. We narrowly missed out on that aspect.

That's your opinion.
Clearly the RFL disagree and so do I.
One bad season doesn't make us an awful club by any stretch of imagination. As for being bottom this season, time will tell. I think we have a much stronger squad this season than last year and I think the likes of Fleming can come in and make an impact. He didn't look out of place in a poor Wales team

Same here or at the very least stadium criteria will be relaxed towards the point of irrelevance....although giving some credit to those clubs who actually own their grounds is a logic which will no doubt continue to elude the RFL. Still, well done Wakey who look to be moving from a poor old stadium they dont own to a good new stadium they dont own. Sarcasm aside I think they'll prosper at NM providing they continue to play well enough to keep the new/returning fans and tempt everyone to follow them almost outside the city limits.

They are the driving force behind it. It doesn't mean they are not looking out for the best interests of the community, Walker especially. It isn't a Trinity owned stadium but clearly it wouldn't be there if Wakefield hadn't needed it and agreed to be anchor tennants, so we are bound to take an interest.
We have a big stake in the stadium but it is also in our interests to develop the Wakefield community sports as well.
Castleford are not in the same boat and although are part of the extended community it isn't quite the same as having another big club there. That 'could' be detrimental to the stadium quality in terms of too many games, clashes of fixtures, so it isn't a given that anyone who wants to play there can just decide to do it.
