| Happily take £500k for Chase. And I would hope Cas hold out for that much. Will be interesting to see if anybody offers the same contract as he's on at the minute. I also think Hull would be a better fit for Chase. I don't think he'd be the main man it Wigan which he craves. At Hull he'd have a big pack to play behind and would still be the main man

| I fully expect an official announcement from the club stating Chase is going nowhere and offers aren't welcome. Whether that puts a pin in this rumour or ups the offer who knows. I can see Chase playing in a Cas shirt for at least another season.

| CT will cash-in on him and they would be daft not to if the figures mentioned on here are anything to go by.

| unfortunately cas saw this coming and did the smart thing by making him sign a lengthy contract (better than letting him go for free) at least make some money put it towards a new stadium etc

| I think you are right - and fortunately for us - we did see it coming and many posters on here predicted this in September last year when he re-negotiated his contract and added another couple of years onto it.

We couldn't make him sign but I get your drift. I have often suggested here, and on other forums that Chase signed an extension not in the certainty that he would see it through but in the expectation that the club would reap some benefit from his eventual departure. If that is the case it could be argued that in the interests of CT he effectively condemned himself to what we all suspected would be another fruitless season. We should thank our lucky stars for Rangi Chase as a player and as a man...the club has been, and will be, far richer for having him.
If he had said he had no interest in playing for a club like Wigan he would stand accused of lying and I've no reason to believe he has been any less honest when declaring his love for our club. But no-one should expect that love to blind him to where his future and that of his family might be better served.

| Hopefully if you get some good news on the Stadium issue this may either persuade him to stay or if he does go replacement with someone of quality will be easier. As you know at the moment it's hard to get decent players to clubs with clouds still hanging over them. Hopefully brighter times for both clubs.

And I agreed with you at the time.
If I were Roger, I'd have agreed to sign that contract extension knowing full well that it wouldn't be enforced, on the proviso that I got 10% of the subsequent sale price.

I don't think a decision by the current England scrum-half to either stay at a struggling Cas Tigers side or move onto a team who are currently in scintillating form and setting the bench-mark in SL would have anything do with what your stadium looks like. At the end of the day - its all about the wonga and of course winning some silverware.
BTW - Nice try in your attempt to change a thread about a player into another stadium one.

| Even if Rangi left and the club trousered £350k+ do we really believe all of that money will go back into player recruitment?
I bet we wouldn't see a quarter of that, think back to 2003...Danny Orr left for Wigan, an injury prone Ryan Sheridan replaced him, its how the club works sadly

I bet Bradford wished they had him. They would put him in a taxi and send him to Wigan for that much dosh. There is no way any team will pay a transfer fee of that magnitude.

TBH I thought he did well for that kick for Tickle's try, but he did come up with a few errors as well. I think the next game should see Chase at 6 and Brough at 7.

Agree Brough should play, that partnership excites me more then brough / sinfield or chase / sinfield. However, can you really see King kev getting dropped?

Only if he gets injured, although even then he might still play. I don't understand McNamara, the exiles series is an excellent oppotunity to experiment with new combinations and partnerships, but sticks with a halfback combo that clearly didn't work well last year.

I think Chase has been told to play more conservatively for England (this isn't aimed at this post but generally for all posters) so people feel disappointed when he plays. At Cas he is the keystone of the side and not having another class half-back has meant that the need for him to perform as doubled. Having another half to take the load off him allows him just to concentrate on his game but people expect him to do what he does at Cas and lambast him when he doesn't.
Two assists in what was atrocious conditions and pee-poor handling across the board. I cannot think of any players that actually stood out, bar Roby, who is Mr Consistent.
Agree with Chase at 6 and Brough at 7. Brough has a better kicking game than Sinfield and is much more attacking and creative. Burrow off the bench to spell with Roby too (we cannot expect Roby to do 80 mins and I feel he is more effective spelled anyway in international rugby).
