Another name, christ the list is endless!!!!! I remember Jermaine in the Academy set up at Cas, he was a quality player no doubt. Letting talent go to waste isn't a new thing for our club is it?

Chris Tuson was part of a Wigan U20 pack last season that went through the season with only one defeat. They won the Grand Final at a canter.

The pack was
Neil Holland - now on dual registration at Blackpool
Sam Gee - now at Wigan Rugby Union (a snip for anyone who needs a hooker)
Ben Davies - now on dual registration at Widnes
Liam Farrell - now on dual registration at Widnes
Chris Tuson - now with yourselves
Mark Flanagan - Just played a full 80 at West Tigers in Aus.
Add to that Chris Gerrard now signed full time at Widnes

You can probably see why clubs wanted these players.

There's a frightening amount of talent at Wigan at the moment and we won't be able to keep them all.
Ainscough, Charnley, Marsh, Thornley and Mellor to name but a few.

As mentioned on the Wigan board, I wouldn't be suprised if this is a trial and then maybe an offer for Tuson plus cash and maybe another player for Michael Shenton.

He seems to be strongly linked with us at the moment as a replacement for George Carmont.

Cas players don't have a good track record when they go to Wigan. Tony Smith, Danny Orr were both awesome at Cas but very average when they moved to Wigan. Big Fish small pond and all that.

Dont forget Wayne Godwin as well

Shenton is out of contract at the end of this season. If he was to leave Cas i think it would be on a free.

How did he play? How long etc?

Shenny will be at the goons next season.

Is that for definate? Obviously it's early doors in regards to the season and I'd be suprised if it's all done and dusted.

Excellent player tho and I'd love him at Wigan. He's got the potential to have the same impact for us as what Senior had on Leeds.

Perhaps the Cas board asked Wigan if they would let any players go to the Jungle. Wigan agreed and Ainscough arrived and played!
Perhaps the Cas board again asked Wigan the same question and Tuson arrived.
No doubt someone at Wigan asked if any Cas player was off contract and Cas wouldn't be able to afford to retain him and Shenton's name popped up!
He's OOC end of 2010 and he'll want to secure his future with a decent salary.
Shenton is a quality player who'll want quality money. Wigan will have shed loads available after 2010 after releasing players and one or two retiring.
Wouldn't surprise me if he ended up at Wigan with one or two players going the other way.

And why can't he get a decent salary at Cas? The only thing Wigan can offer him more than Cas is a stab at success, but then there's no guarantee that Cas can't offer him the same for next season if they get their finger out and do some serious recruiting next season.

We'll (hopefully) free up a lot of cash after getting rid of Shifty and releasing crap like Clayton

No disrepesct to Cas' but maybe the lure of a ''big club'' too?

Although like others have mentions, the move hasn't always worked out for the likes of Orr and T. Smith.

Still, Shenton is young enough to be moulded into a top class established player, even more than what he is now & similar to the way St Helens took Gleeson under their wing.
