| Quote ="TrinitarianWF2"If I knew BOTH clubs could stay in SL playing separately there's no way I'd entertain the idea of sharing.
However if your franchise was in danger, which if the RFL followed the letter of the law it probably will be should you have 0 movement on GH/WR (all hypothetical), I'd be more than happy for you to share either temporarily or on a full time basis.
The idea of Doncaster is laughable, WR to Keepmoat is 26.3 miles, WR to NM is 4.7 miles. That's before we mention that moving out of your city isn't seen in a positive light. We asked to play games at Oakwell (9.2 miles from BV) & were flatly told by the RFL that this was impractical. How many fans would go for that? What chance of catching passing fans? Even if you picked up some from Doncaster how many would travel when you eventually moved home? On an ethical level I would appose this, it would be a step too near the NFL for me, with franchises being picked up & moved at will. 23.6 miles you must have a dyslexic tas van
Now I know the RFL are famous for changing their minds, but a move of the best part of 30 miles is stupid IMO, unless you change your name to Doncaster.
At the end of the day the season/my general interest in RL would be diminished by the loss of our derby. If sharing would save that I'm all for it, if we don't need to share EVEN BETTER!'"

| Whether the community stadium is a non profitable company or not it will still take plenty of money to keep it going and if funds dont reach the break even mark either the council will have to make up the short fall or the club renting the facility will have to make it up and that means a price hike, but if two SL clubs did share and both paid an equal amount and straight away the stadium goes from 13 home games to 26 that would mean the rent being less, and both clubs might prosper, for me its just down the M62 to the next junction, although i would prefer our own home the two big clubs at ever side of the common would be debt free and have a new start it just needs both sets of fans & club owners to swallow their pride, & put an agreement together that a merger would not be ever on the cards, the only thing what would ever stop a stadium share is Pride

The Milan clubs sharing makes sense for them. I read an article about it years ago there is no particular divide of the city ie north & south, east & west ,districts etc (though the ultras of Inter tend to be more right wing politically, AC Milan left wing).
It seems people follow one or the other through family lines, passed down from grandparents, parents and so on.

As far as I recall, the option for Castleford to take up a tenancy at NM has always been available; I say take up a tenancy rather than share, because it isn't ours in the first place.
It was probably Richard Wright who put a spanner in the works, by trying to influence the planning decision against the development, with his ill-conceived letter to the inspector - if I recally correctly, he suggested that there was no need for the facility, as WTW could share at GH. (The inspector noted in his report that they couldn't, because there was nothing there to share.)
All of that said, if Steve Ferres has a change of heart, I shouldn't imagine that the Trust BoD would hold Tricky Dicky's actions against CT.

No they are not and they never were. At the end of the day the stadium development progress is now in the hands of an "entertainment" company based in the midlands.
Who knows? it may happen in a few months time or whenever.
There should be no reason (at this moment in time) for the council to claw back the promised £2m from Cas.

Still if thats that they have told you it'll be the truth.

| if GH is dead and a re-furb of the jungle not affordable, then it would be in the best interest of both clubs to make sure at least one ground gets constructed, we all know agreements and promises have been made, but we also know how easy it is for promises to be broken, neither club as anything except a peace of paper, hopefully no hiccups will accrue, the fans can debate it until we are blue in the face, but at the end of the day we dont have a say in the matters except as a fan, we need two strong SL clubs, so we can keep all the young talent from are area, instead of the big clubs making them think that their grass is greener, in my eyes RW left Cas fans with a bad taste in their mouth under his tenancy, but SF seems to be totally different, if you ask him a question he gives you a answer, RW, always went round the gardens to take you up the garden path

In theory were taking rugby out of the City. Is it not in your means as a club to compromise? Ideally we would have wanted a ground near the City but it's just not viable.....sometimes you have to give a bit.

The stadium element may have had investment but it's still fundamentally tied to the rest of the development via the 106. One element (stadium/development) cannot exist without the other & as soon as the stadium is constructed it will be passed into the control of the community trust. This was all trashed out in the PI & following months & is documented & signed off in the 106. By gov, council, developer & bank of Scotland.
So other than investment into the scheme, which isn't anything other than a positive, this is of little relevance to the community trust, WTW & any other tenants. When the stadium is going to be transferred once constructed it makes little difference who paid for it, this is between Yorkcourt & their investors. As we all know the stadium is just a sweetener to the local community.
If you think Yorkcourt have done all this to mothball it your deluded. They will cross fund the development, which is what you describe (sell off the lions % in the stadium in exchange for a profit share in the total), but this shows how developments like this are funded.
One element can't be built without the other. You know all this Alf, you practically sleep with transcripts of the PI & a copy of the 106. Merry new year old pal

Yorkcourt have sold 66% of the stadium element to a entertainment company based in the Midlands.
Cross funding happens all the time & is how companies raise the capital for large scale developments. The Shipley Brothers will now become partners in the development.
For their investment in providing the stadium element they will take a share in the profits from the total development.
As I said in the post above, it makes not difference for us, other than showing us how quickly YC have begun in finding the funds to build the stadium, the quicker they do that (along with partners buying elements/plots of the industrial development)the quicker the whole thing gets built & YC get paid.
This is how developments are funded, why did this never happen at J32? Because that never got out of the hanger, let alone off the runway.

Someone from the Wakey forum stated the other week that the Community Trust will only ever seek to break even. My point was that they will be seeking to make a profit/increase money because all monies will have to be reinvested in for upkeep and for any unexpected bills.

| I said about a year ago on here, not long after the RFL bought the lease on Odsal,I was told that no way in this world would Cas get a new ground.
I got shot down in flames by Cas fans cos they didn't want to believe it.
After what's happened with the Bulls, now Salford and Cas next, the league won't kick anybody out if there ground isn't up to scratch because whoever they promote won't be able to compete unless they get into loads of debt.
Within 2 years it will be a 12 team league and if Cas stay at Wheldon Road they will not be in it.
Cas must go to Newmarket or Cas will not have a super league team, simple as that.
And for those one eyed Cas fans that don't agree with me,you keep buying your bricks for Glasshoughton

Likewise a surplus profit over foreseen problems would result in a net reduction in any rent payable by WTW to WDCT.

these will be less likely with a more modern complex than a run down stadium
even when Wheldon rd is brought up to a better standard it will still be more likely to cost more to run than Newmarket

| Simple solution should you ever get on board. Expand the board of directors on the trust. A politician offiliated with Castleford, say Yvette Cooper & a member of the CT BOD, say Fulton/his son.
Rodney is the natural leader, even the most diehard CT fan would love a figure like that fighting your corner. The man has connections 99% of people can only dream of, within the RFL, gov & high society.

As you are aware Wakefield District Community Trust is a seperate entity to the Wildcats Community Trust. If you look back historically when the Diggers were bundling around Glasshoughton allegedly getting the area ready for the CAS stadium (For CAS and not a Community Stadium) CAS dismissed the community trust idea and later brought in one solely for the Tigers but tried in vein to turn GH into a Community facility thats one area that went wrong for the club, reliant at that stage on private funding and the economy went bang. The Wakefield and District Community Trust is well established regardless of the Directors and is now in the driving seat for developiong a stadium for the District at NM. Can wait for the 2015 derby at NM

| If the proposed Calder merger hadn't happened in 1995 supporters might have felt different...but if we had to share N.M i think it wouldn't be long before the powers that be would try and force a merger through again.
The club is a central part of the community, move one to another and that community spirit is lost. The club has so far out lasted a lot of industry in the area and are very proud and protective of it.
I understand the need for modern facilities, but to threaten the long term existence of the club to sit at the top table of a organisation that (in my opinion) are biased to a select few.
Maybe we should ask some Salford fans how they feel, would they have wanted a move if they knew how things have turned out?
