| Quote ="Tigerade"It is obviously clear that both RW and JF are waiting for a pay-off. Shares went from £10 each to £40 at a time when we were trying to get more people to buy into the club. They will not budge until they get paid off.
There are 2 ways this could happen. One is a dream come true for Cas fans the other is not worth thinking about and will be the death of this great club.
1. Some one comes into buy them both out and we continue with the good work laid down by Steve Ferres and Nick Fozzard with a new BOD and new investment.
2. Wheldon Road is finally sold and they both take the lions share leaving us without a home, without a BOD and without a club. The end.'"
Given the sudden nature of the announcement, could there be a risky game of bluff going on?

| He must have another job to go to, you do not walk away from a very well paid job unless you have a better offer. He left us , Wakey, twice I think and went straight into new employment. I think you will miss him on the rugby side of things rather that the commercial / business aspect of the job. I always got the impression that he was rugby man at heart, his dealings to bring players in, to unearth good young cheap players and to get a team spirit going. Richard Wright can easily cover the commercial side of things until a new person is in place. I wonder if Kath Hetherington may want to get back into the game.

| I know it doesn't look good Ferres walking but just because he's gone it doesn't mean anything is any worse than it was when he came You have just beat the world champions had 9000 fans watching and got a better team than last year Cas like other clubs have had set backs before and will again you will get through it if you all stick together The club need to stop making false statements nuckle down and show the RFL that they can get better

| Steve Ferres resigned!
In my opinion this is not good news for the club but..... It may turn out to be a good thing.
I think that in a lot of people think the club needs kicking into shape. Steve Ferres may have suggested this and when come up against opposition, he resigns.
Some of the things that are holding the club back are out into the public domain now and from this we need some answers. It may come in the form of spin (again) but eventually something has to give.
We need another statement from the club outlining what the plans are for the future. Supporters have 'visions' for the future but are not able to influence anything.
Someone needs to be pro active. If Steve F cannot do anything just maybe this bombshell will force a move from the board.

| Very sad day...Think Ferres was slowly starting to move the club in the right direction.
I don't have any faith in the current board at all, and while Fulton has helped the club in the past it is now a hindrance,no new investors will come in while the club is set out as it is.
Could be the beginning of the end

| Lol just read the chairmen's statement on the club website, his continual backing of the club are in the form of loans...which he will want back.
Current Cas B.O.D should stand for Board Of Dinosaurs...lumbering along to extinction. New board, fresh ideas are needed....lets look at the record of J.F/R.W...hardly a great success is it?

| I think we all have known for a good number of years we need a new board in place. The problem is - is that they're stuck where they are. JF wants his money back and they wants an absurd amount for their shares.
That means someone would need to throw about £3-5million into the club that's currently losing money and has extremely poor commercial assets to push further than they already are.
It'll never happen until a die hard fan wins the euromillions.

| SF says “ the board is not in a position to support the multitude of changes that I believe must take place now in order for Castleford to continue to compete at Super League level”
I would want the BOD to clarify whether:-
1. they disagreed that the proposed changes are necessary or that they accepted them but don’t have the power/resources to implement them
2. without the changes we cannot continue to be in SL or that we cannot be competitive in SL
For the time being I’ll resist the urge to demonise anyone or break out the cyanide pills.

| SF as asked for changes to be made - the BOD have refused these changes. I'm intrigued to find out what he was asking for. I think it is along the lines of a mixture of the following:-
1. Ground redevelopment
2. New investors
3. New Management team

Although you seem to have malfunctioning BOD I don't think SF resigning can all be put down to them.
SF is a good bloke but he is also very ambitious for himself rather than the specific club he's at. He wants the chance to run his own SL club without interference but with financial backing, who that club is isn't overly important. This is not a bad thing as emotion is no great friend to an administrator. The problem is Steve comes to the table with no real cash of his own. What he wants is to spend other peoples money without having them question him. I think if this were to happen Steve would probably succeed - however in the real world people with serious money tend to want to be totally involved in how it's used.
So unless this incredibly trusting individual exists which I doubt Steve will always be the firefighter who turns clubs around but is never the one to lead them to the promised land. It's sad but true because it happened twice at Wakefield.
Best of luck to both parties.

Potentially a fair assessment. I'd read about SF having itchy feet on the Wakey board as he joined but I didn't expect him to go so soon. The disappointing thing is, him & Foz were making progress steadily. There was a genuine feel good factor about the place going into the new season. Everyone knows it isn't an easy job and will take time, Rome wasn't built in a day and all that.

This makes abundant sense. Steve's a good man but probably a frustrated one.
He worked alongside Gary Hetherington for long enough at Sheffield and probably thinks he has the know-how to replicate what he's done at Leeds if only he is given the chance. But, as stated, he comes with little or no capital so it's always going to be a problem, sadly.

| He gave his reasons for leaving, the club could not afford to fund the multiples of changes he wants to make. He wont be out of work for long, some one who can afford to pay for his dreams will set him on.
if you take on a job with a team who you know has no money, why ask for a blank check

| As a Bradford fan i have to say that i was impressed massively by your performance against as last weekend. the score line didn't reflect the performance in the end. I hope that you can resolve what ever off field problems that you may be experiencing as you have a great club with great fans and deserve to be successful.
