We are having to dip into our u20s. That is, those young players who have not been promoted to first team; our real reserves. Some of them have only just turned 18. Since 'two or three' of our first team won't be playing on Monday in addition to Wheeler and Wello who we lost in the match (and we don't yet know who those extra two or three are), then we will be fielding a largely u20s side. There will be no putting 50 points on you on Monday. I'll be amazed if we manage to put a point on the board.

Not as bad as we all thought it was going to be. Phew! Bar Wheeler, it's the same line up as against Wigan, although Wello is playing on an ankle injury and so we may lose him at some point.
We still won't put 50 on you, but at least we now have a fighting chance!

Heart says a sneaky Cas win but on our last two 2nd half performances its a straight forward Saints win by 18,once they get on a scoring roll it will be a long afternoon for us

| Saints will be the first team to hit 30 against us. I think it will be 38-24 saints. I have no hope after witnessing the last 2 games.

| Any thooughts about our fitness levels? Wakey did seem to make quick and simple yards at every play of the ball, where as (other than Fozzy) we didn't seem to have any 'get up and go!'
I thought Childs was poor al round. No bias, just poor!!! In the first half I though he was going to lose control of the game due to a lot of high tackles and neck grappling. However, nothing but our players to blame for a lack lustre performance, missed opportunities, poor ball retention, missed tackles....the lot!

| Much more optimistic today about the Cas Saints game. thought you lot would be able to take advantage of the kids worn out by a wigan lesson in RL. But as it turns out the kids are all right.

Something else that wound me up we allowed them to score from dummy half same as we did with quins last week - for god sake basic rugby get low down so that they can't ground the ball
Rant over
well played wakey
Cas you need to wake up'"
It was dixon clean through with ferres and hudson on inside and owen on outside where did he go owen who had a shocker for me
but saying that dixon didn't even look where he passed it,
and that was the turning point if we scored that that would have been game over but like the old castleford last season we blew it canrt
hold a lead

Pathetic tonight, all credit to Wakey and certainly to John Kear who finds us out time and time again, but I am just so tired of losing to them in these games. They had the bragging rights when we were sh*te and they sent us down and they STILL have the bragging rights when they are on their ar$e and we are supposedly 'flying high'. Gutted.'"
Think you have nailed it there and your not the only one struggling to comprehend it. I was ready to eat humble pie, and 50 minutes into the game it was over for me.
Your totally right, this should be your moment and over all it is but those bragging rights matter and we all know it.
Most Cas fans don't want us out but they sure want to be top dogs and if we do go you won't want us saying that Cas couldn't beat us even when we were down and out - that's how it is.
It's a strange one and I can't explain it but when it comes to this particular derby one team has the edge in recent times and It hurts - we know.

where are the highlights available? I was sure that it was Dixon however only being 5 foot 4 and having someone jumping up and down in front of me may be the reason i mistook the player

But they werent forward...read on.
Direction of Pass 1. The direction of a pass is relative to the player making it and not to the actual path relative to the ground. A player running towards his opponents’ goal line may throw the ball towards a colleague who is behind him but because of the thrower’s own momentum the ball travels forward relative to the ground. This is not a forward pass as the thrower has not
passed the ball forward in relation to himself. This is particularly noticeable when a running player makes a high, lobbed pass.

Yes, but he was not moving forward with any significant impulse, to affect the flight of the ball - the ball went forward because Chase threw it forward, not because of any momentum imparted from his forward movement.

wrong again, he was ahead of both the ball and the player who caught the ball...hence momentum. Can you get it yet?

Dear oh dear!
The passer being in front of the catcher at the moment of the catch does not determine the effect of momentum!
If Chase was running forward at 8m/s, it would be reasonable for the ball to also travel forward at 8m/s, if passed directly sideways (we can discuss the effects of resistance later).
He wasn't, it did = forward pass.

no, if he is running and passes and the ball ends up behind its a backwards pass as the ball has travelled backwards in relevance to the player passing....dont have to bring in times, its common sense.

| No.
If a player is stationary when passing, then simply put the pass can be judged relative to the ground as there is no momentum imparted on the direction of the ball.
If moving forward, a squarely passed ball, will carry the same forward momentum. This is not a forward pass, as, relative to the passer, the ball has not travelled foward.
What you describe is a player sending a pass forward, but running in front of it before it is caught.

he was already running forward, and yes he run past the balls line thus making it backwards in relativity to the player passing the ball once received. Which is the rule.
