| Was watching out for illegal tackling techniques in the first half from Wigan but when the number got past 30 I gave in, grapples/ninjas/chicken wings/snap the pole all in there, the most common being the latter.

Wow, slander, and from a mod as well. Are you sure you want to make allegations that Wigan coaching staff are coaching players to break the oppositions legs?

The fact its both seen and heard being coached means there's nothing wrong with the post. Horrible technique and should carry a heavy ban. Not just for players - the coaches too.

No.
Tomkins came in from the front and made Cunningham's knees bend the correct way to put him down on his back.

Do any of you have proof the Wigan coaching team are coaching players to break the oppositions legs? You do know what proof is don't you? If not, it is slander.
We'll ignore the fact all teams tackle third man in and take the legs; none of which I believe are aiming too do damage to the opposition. The fact you (anyone) think that any RL player is trying to end another's career (or even injure them) is sickening bull.

It has been outlawed as a dangerous tackling technique - i.e. taking out the standing leg in the tackle. IIRC it's an automatic sin-bin offence, or it was earlier in the season.
To be honest can't say I noticed too much of this last night although it wasn't something I was concentrating on.
Quote ="I8pies"See you failed to mention the numerous head shots from Cas'"
Our guys gave as good as they got. Don't forget a shot can appear deceptively high when it's accross the shoulder - we were actually incorrectly penalised for this on two occasions last night so you can have few complaints.

| This tackling technique has been outlawed from very early in the season, Jeff Lima was sin binned and banned for it the week it was outlawed. Since then not one player from ANY club has appeared before the disciplinary or been cited for it. Move on

Terms like this are used all the time when you play rugby, It doesn't actually mean break his leg. I was taught from a young age 2 tacklers go high then the 3rd man takes the legs, always have 3 men in the tackle as you can slow down the play the ball. All this anti Wigan b******s is getting embarrasing now.

| The third man tackle on the standing leg has almost disappeared.
Lima got binned at Leeds for a tackle on Clarkson and was accused of tackling the standing leg. As Clarkson was running at the time and not stood up and stationary, therefore not standing, it seemed a curious interpretation.
What appears to be happening now and was done by both Wigan and Cas in last night's game is that when two men hold the ball carrier a third man, it seems, is now allowed to come in and tackle around the ankles. This has been done by Wigan and all teams they've played over the past number of weeks.

The point with the Clarkson one was that it looked worse than it was and to me at the time hoffman and Hansen (I think) were as guilty as Lima for the position they put his body in, they seemed to take him in the same direction from where lima was coming, I didn't think there was much wrong with what Lima did as all players are coached to take the legs of a player if he is still driving forwards. The reaction of the leeds players didn't help and it was at a time that this type of tackle was being hightlighted.
Bailey did the exact same thing last week on mossop but yet nothing was said.

| Watch the game again, Cas used the 3 man tackle as well. When Wire beat Wigan at the DW they used the 3 man tackle all the time and beat us at our own game. Everybody is whinging about serious injuries caused by this tackle technique but where is the proof and stats to prove it, there are none.
By the way congrats to Cas for the way they played, the youngsters stood up and should be aplauded.

Actually we've moved on to shooting opposition players, and drowning all their children.

| A freeze frame of the tackle made on Clarkson in the Leeds game by Lima clearly showed that his leg was mid-air.
I totally agree that the tackling of the standing leg should be construed as illegal but the ref got it wrong that night as he couldn't go to the screen or consult the 4th official to ascertain whether the leg "attacked" was airborne or with its foot firmly implanted on terra firma.
Still, if people want to believe the propaganda that our coach is responsible for a new tackling ethos, let their uneducated minds think that.

Try as hard as you like but 90% of fans were them Wigan only do it Glasses!
I have also said this about the proof this tackle brings injuries. Lima hit a moving leg behind the knee making it bend in the way it should. Im waiting for whoever tackled Emmitt to be banned!!

The handbags came from Sinfield and co running in crying, the ref wasnt giving a penalty till then!
