Ah the steak and pizza place.

They did a very nice Bacalau (sp?) a la Catalan when Minty and I were out there the other Easter

There were some really nice areas, but also some areas that seemed to be populated by extremely poor people living in houses that looked as though they were in need of much more than a lick of paint.

I found that most of the people over there very friendly and helpful, the dog dirt was more of a problem in the poorer areas, but even in the city centre it did seem to be an issue. I feel it's very much worse than in England at present, where I think people are finally getting into the habit of clearing their dogs mess up

As far as buying drinks are concerned, it was far more expensive (pro-rata) buying 250, 330cl size drinks than 500cl (or pints).

As always when I'm abroad, I like to explore and take a good look at what a place is about, not just the inside of bars (may as well stay home if that's all I'm going to do), I did try several local bars, but wasn't too impressed with the majority, though maybe I just didn't get in the right one's.

There's a lot to see in the south of France and it's well worth a visit, but fingers crossed we play in summer next year (and take a big wad with you, as it's well expensive).

why are talking about perpignan as a place on here, perpignan must be 100 times better than half of the places we vistit for rugby games in the country, take fev for instance and cas aint exactly gay paris

I imagine it's mainly because it's not a place we visit just for a couple of hours and then go home and it costs hundreds of pounds rather than a few quid?

I made my own way over to france again and stopped at my french pals pad,he lives in a lovely village called "Prades" which is about a 30 mins drive from perpignan,his wife even agreed to pick us both up on both the friday and saturday nights as well,and it's a good job she did because we were absolutely cabbaged,not as many fans this time but the atmosphere was very good,my mate Gilles has even sworn his allegience to the Tigers as well

This was one of a group that, when they got off the little coach at any stop, merely raced straight to the nearest drinking hole and didn't even bother to look around.

They must have been running the gauntlet a bit with all the dog sh*t lying around.

Same bar as I paid €6.50 for a pint, I think a small glass of wine was around €2.50, but would have been well trashed had I taken to drinking the vino, as I tend to drink it like pop.

The bar near the castle was 6.85 for a pint of Heineken, 11.00 for a bottle of Rose

I thought you were quite sober, considering the result and the time of night I saw you in that bar, but I didn't realise there was an even more expensive bar than the one we were in, so maybe you had been in there first Dettoriman?

I seemed sober because the rest were so drunk, And yeah we had tested out a few more bars too, We had been on the pop since 11 that day so looking sober is a good thing lol

Drunk is a mild word for some of 'em...not sure if it was one of your mates or not Dettori, but one of the lads who was worse for wear in there, was proudly flashing a green bikini around that he had bought (he wasn't wearing it, I hasten to add) and he made no bones about the fact that he bought it for himself not a girlfriend!

Not sure what he intended to do with it, but he was so proud of it lol!

It was a Mankini, And the guy who was flashing it around had it on round the hotel on the wednesday, And one of our mates was running round the town in it on his 21st on the friday
