| No disrespect to Cas. But it was only Wakefield you gave a hiding, hardly a top club are they?
You played well today but won't be competing with the 'Big Three' when the prizes are dished out a the end of the season.

We get it, we won't be at the top at the end of the season, everyone keeps telling us. How about you let us play our matches and get on with it, and we'll see what happens? Luckily for Cas we have a set of fans that have been dragged through the ringer in SL and after the past few years of getting tonked on the weekly, it's refreshing to watch some good rugby.
We want commitment, nothing else. That's exactly what we're getting - the 2 points is a bonus. We're getting 100% from our team and that's more than I can say for a lot of sides in this competition.
Toddle along now kid

I don't think anybody on here has said that, but given the limited budget we have at the club we are rightfully delighted to be where we are and how we are playing.
You sound like an anxious Hull Kr fan who's desperately hoping our bubble will burst to promote your own.

He's a terrible troll, second rate.
Taught a lesson today from Cas and Powell, well done.

| Highest points for in the league! Wigan would need 47 from their game in hand to overtake us.
It's going rather well isn't it
Also, i'd like to wish all the battered and bruised Widnes players a full and speedy recovery, and by speedy I mean the 26th of May

| Wonder what happened to the world-class Greg Inglis-like Lucas Walshaw and co against the distinctly average, mediocre plodders that are our team.
Never mind, it's great to be able to put 50 by the Wildcats, though a shame they didn't put up more of a fight.

| Nice to get an early season double up already on our nearest and dearest.
The comment on the WTW board "congratulations - you have only beaten a bottom 3 side" does'nt wash with me. We have beaten our local "big city" rivals and gained a valuable 3 points in the process.

| It's not just the fact that you won, or that you scored a shed load of points, its the attitude and the manner of the victory that demands to be noticed. Not flash, show boating stuff a la Rangi Chase but well worked and genuinely classy rugby. Even through my tears of anguish I could recognise a suberb team display by your guys. I hope you manage to hang on to Clarke (a potential world class player) and Sneyd (who doesn't look to be too far behind) cos you could build a team around those two going forward - but the most important person to hang on to is Powell. He's the signing of the decade as far as I can see.
I see no reason why you can't make top four, and you're a match for any one else in the league at the moment - good luck!

At the end of the day some Wakefield fans have been really been talking us down. Prior to the game we were nothing special, just average and playing above our level. It seems that because we're rivals, it's hard to give any sort of credit to us (if anything the bitterness, envy, sourness is from the opposite side not from my side). But you're right - I should have held back - but I find it hard to when such nonsense (IMO) is said. No doubt some people will say it'd be same if boot was on other foot; well I'd like to think the majority of fans gave Wakey credit last season when you hammered us and said how good you played, despite our own shortcomings.
Now we've tonked you and put 50 on us some of your fans STILL can't give credit to Cas, can't admit that we've got some quality players in our side and believe that Wakey's team is at a similar level to us. For instance, someone posted that Daryl Clark is not as good as McShane. Even AFTER he's ripped you to shreds as he has done for most of the season. Justin Carney is just an average plodder who isn't any good despite scoring over a try per game in all competitions and including running through four of your players. The list continues.
So forgive me for having a jovial little dig at those people. At the end of the day, I think most Cas fans will agree we're surpassing expectations but it's not undeserved and our position is justifiably so. It would be nice for some people to give us some due credit for once. We are the top scorers in Super League and a defensive record that ties up with some of the other bigger clubs in the league. If we aren't a contender for a top 6, top 4 finish now then I'll eat my hat.
But for Wakey to compare themselves to Cas would be having expectations beyond what they should be. As people have pointed out, it's a new rebuilt side with very little time to gel and bed together, whereas we've only lost a couple of players and in the rest of the positions we've had a lot of stability without any need to bed in. In addition to that, there has been a lack of depth and inexperience at times to fulfil voids left by the likes of Tautai and Lauitiiti and in the three-quarters. This was only ever about avoiding the drop and any other gains were major positives. It's not nice getting sucker-punched by your rivals in a one-sided score but I don't think there's any shame in admitting that the opposition is reaching their potential and putting together quality performances.

| The "lump of lard" comments on the Wakey board directed to Carney before the match was one of those instances Fully when you just knew you have to save it up until the carnage is over.
Smugness personifed for me - and I don't mind admitting it!

I am not absolutely sure why. Maybe Millward just doesn't like him for whatever reason.
