| Well, it's been a long time since we visited Donny for a league game and Sunday's trip is a real four pointer. Going on this season's home fixture this is one we should be confident of winning but our form lately dosen't suggest owt barring another embarrassing defeat. Players injured, missing or just going through the motions dosen't auger well but it was similar before the home game and we blew them away. I'll go for Donny 20v20 Fax. Up The Fax!

| Last time I went to the Eco we played Sheffield and lost ( not that has any bearing on owt ) and I seem to remember there was another game played?
We got the result in the home game but had a big contribution from the Leeds DR crew so back to anything can happen this weekend.
We should beat Dewsbury and we all know the importance 2 points is from any of the other games as should the players starting Sunday.

| I wouldn't say a defeat would be embarrassing, Donny aren't that bad and recently beat Toulouse so I'd actually have them down as favourites with home advantage. But I'm strangely confident and I'm going for Donny 18 Fax 26.

I get your point but not being embarrassed by losing to Doncaster just goes to show how far we have fallen. Sad times but...Up The Fax!

| A Tony Fisher coached Donny gave a good account of themselves that season and Jamie Bloem was their star player who seemed to play like a man possessed at full back. I think he got banned for a year or 2 for drugs, however. And IIRC the reason we drubbed them 72-0 was due to bouncing cheques. Their players really didn't care - I remember them retreating to their half thinking they'd scored (or summat like that) when they obviously hadn't and our players charged like the light brigade after a tap on our own line for a full length of the field try. I got threatened in their club house after the match by a donny fan who accused me of staring at him. (or was that when we lost 12-6, can't remember).

| If I remember correctly that 0v72 game, we were in't car on the way back listening to radio Leeds and a Doncaster fan came on claiming they had been robbed due to a Dons player being sent off Lol! What he didn't mention was the score was summat like 0v50 at the time of the sending off!

Think it's harsh saying they weren't trying we were on fire at the time and gave the aussies a real test the week after..they did have a player called Grobbalaer though who surprisingly kept dropping the ball..

Fair play to Finn, I actually agree that the players really are trying (most of the time!) it's just the lack of quality which is letting us down. This was very evident against Wakey when some players (who I shan't pick out) were woefully exposed despite their hard graft.
I suppose it's quite obvious. Even if the players don't give 100% then if the quality is there, we should still be beating the likes of Swinton. As Howard Wilkinson once said - "there's no substitute for quality".

Bit disrespectful to our progression, yes the likes of fax, bradford and even widnes are bigger teams with bigger history but nobody has a devine right to classed as a big team. What about being embarrassed that you've had to rely on leeds players to get you out of the mess when 'little' clubs like ourselves try and go alone? Anyway hope you enjoy your trip on Sunday.

You're right,no disrespect and we are embarrassing in many ways...having said that we continually name a forward called Hudson from Leeds and never play him ?? maybe he'll get a chance on Sunday as hopefully the dud we've got on loan from you will not be allowed to play...

Nothing but respect for Donny and indeed most of the clubs in the league and the days of Fax being anything like a bigger club are long gone.
However we don’t make the rules and like everyone else being free to choose an available option doesn’t embarrass me one bit.
Can’t make the trip on Sunday and expect to lose but it’s not a certainty like last weekend.

Yes, i really expected that sort of response to my post and believe me, i have a lot of respect for Doncaster and the way they have improved the club. My comments were based on my personal visits to Donny over many years and the historical results against The Dons. As you say though all that is in the past and it's the now that matters. I am totally embarrassed though, by Fax's involvement with SL clubs and any club that goes it alone deserves full credit for that. I'm not sure though, that Doncaster are in that category. I'll be there however on Sunday cheering Fax on to what some might say would be a surprise two points. Up The Fax!

| There are a few old codgers on here who will always remember Doncaster as being RL's perennial whipping boys along with Huyton (and even Batley until recently). Indeed a documentary was even made about Donny called "Another Bloody Sunday" on how they struggled.

| Don't forget that if you want to park at the ground on sunday you will need to download the App first. And if you need to use a toilet the same applies, also if you have the need to break wind well you know what you have to do first don't you.

A few things have changed since your last visit to the Ecopower Stadium (or whatever it might be called by Sunday as naming rights are currently up for grabs).
----------
Car Parking is mainly done electronically now, it's cheapest to book in advance via this website (you do not need the app). I have pre-set the filters for this Sunday for Car Park 2 for your convenience:
https://www.yourparkingspace.co.uk/loca ... al_count=1
Alternatively you can scan the QR codes in the car park, or if you do not have access to the internet you can pay at the ticket office at the ground.
Tickets are unreserved seating but generally away fans tend to sit at the South End of the ground. If clubs have been given an allocation to sell they are usually at that end.
The bar at the top of the main stand is members only now but the bars in the concourse are open for everyone before and during the game. All the bars/food are card only.
------------------
I tried posting this on the facebook group but was forbidden, if anyone wants to copy and paste it into there feel free
