| In anticipation of Wakey putting 40 on York...i'm going for 72-0 to keep the season alive..
The appointment of timekeeper N.Hope is probably a better indication of what lies ahead..

Lol! We got £3 return tickets to Manchester (via Rochdale) on't train a few weeks back for this weekend. With it now being another friendly to add on to all the league games i think a wander around Manchester's hostelries sounds a better bet tbh.

| I personally thought Crooks was playing well until the dropped pass. It wasn't dropping it, was a poor pass, but to just stand there and let the Oldham player pick up and score was nowt short of disgraceful. That cost us the game in't end up.

| Scrape a win here with a few ups and downs . Tibbs in for me always manages to score if there is half a chance .

| Seeing it in real time and then watching the replay, Crooks does not just let the Oldham player pick up the ball, yeah maybe the Oldham player reacts faster but Crooks simply can't turn around in time to recover. Anyhow he would not be the centre that I would be leaving out, I simply don't think you can afford to carry a defensive liability out in the centre and Oldham exploited that on a few occasions. As for the Rochdale game I will be waiting till its on YT to watch it, I don't tend to attend friendlies and this is just a glorified one now and because of that I think Finn will be carful with team selection. Playing Widdop in this sort of game against a League 1 team would be madness if we think about it as would playing anyone carrying knocks.

He ran a great line for his try but his defense lets him down time and time again. If he can improve that aspect of his game he could be a really good centre at this level, its just not happening up until now and Im sure he will be really disappointed with his tackle attempt on Turner for one of those tries along with a few other misses.

Tibbs' defence is awful. He costs us as many as he scores.

| And that is the problem we have at centre summed up by the comments already. We do not have many options Tibbs is better in attack but poor in defense, Mccomb is good at carrying the ball away from your own end but is also worrying in d. Crooks always seems to beat the first man but hasnt got the pace of Tibbs to really punish the opposition and can also get caught in d. All in all i think we need a new centre. As for the game as already been said do not risk anyone carry knocks but at the same we need some confidence going forward so pick the strongest side possible and hopefully we can get a big win.

| Anyone go? Sounds like a decent run out for the team and a surprise debut for Widdop although by the sounds of it the move happened that although we might have expected its not one we wanted with Woody moving out to centre to allow Widdop to play in the halves and LJ to fullback.

| Opposition not up to much and game constantly interrupted by Ridyard and McNnally muttering to the ref... and giving themselves a breather... they give Paul Sykes a run for his money. We dominated first 20 mins or so and looked like we could have made up the points difference on York at one point. Then we seemed to lose direction for a while, which seemed to coincide with Tangata, Lannon and O'Brien going off. Also got hit a bit on discipline, particularly six again although this seemed harsh and in contrast to the refereeing at Oldham.
We showed some good stuff in attack with some really nice tries. As for GW, most of his touches lead to breaks or tries. Matty Gee must be rubbing his hands at the thought of playing outside him.

| The first thing i noticed about Rochdale was how small their players were compared to Oldhams. So for once we enjoyed physical dominance over the opposition and they had little line speed so we had a lot more time on the ball but they did move the ball well and their number 7 was lively. Also Ridyards kicking caused us a fair few problems from restarts and out of hand. As for us i think pretty much everyone had a good game, both centres had good games Keyes was finding the ground with his kicks and Jouffret had a good allround game including only missing one shot at goal when most of his kicks came from the touchline. As Greg as touched on now that Widdop has got 30 minutes under his belt how do we use him going forward. As things stand right now i would go with Widdop on that right hand side, move Jouffret to the left and leave Keyes out. If woody was to pick up a injury then Jouffret would be my pick to go to fullback and Keyes can come back into the halfs.
