I may well be in a minority here but i am looking forward to going to bradford on boxing day to watch some festive rugby. And also to see some of our new signings play for the first time. Even if it snows i will be there i do miss the festive games we used to have before super league bradford on boxing day and leeds on new years day with close to full houses. That's something summer rugby can not replace.

I was there the other night to watch our granddaughter play tag, and at present I would say it’s not fit for purpose. Wear some old clothes as half the terraces are covered in thick cloying red clay thrown up from the track by the stock cars etc, and it sticks to everything, the track around the pitch looks like it’s been ploughed. Utter hole - certainly won’t be paying my money to go and watch anything there!!

Come on! What's not to like? Sub zero temperatures, a possibility of a soaking and seeing a load of ring rusty players make mistakes. Then if you haven't died of hyperthermia you can watch the second half when a load of subs come on who you can't identify because nobody bothers announcing their names. The game will get even worse as most players will have barely met, let alone played together and it'll end with no real obvious conclusions to draw.

And this year you'll get covered in sticky stuff from the new track too.

I knew i was on to a loser trying to promote this game. I will have to embrace the sticky stuff and try and enjoy the game despite the surroundings.

Never been a fan of pre-season friendlies, add Odsal in to the equation and I’ll definitely not be going, might have gone to the Shay just to get out of the house.

Not so good as a spectator event but from the players point of view training is one thing but you can’t beat a good run out against a rival side to go up a gear, get stuck in and get the cobwebs off which is what it’s there for.

Correct, the players need the games more than the fans do, and barring one other Odslum is about the worst choice for an away day for supporters. The lads though will need a couple more games under their belt before the Batley match. A good start is essential! Up The Fax.

Another friendly announced salford away Friday 21 January 7.30 kick off. Will we be able to attend this game the way things our going probably not.

One things for sure social distancing is not going to be a problem at odsalum. Would think it is relatively low risk to run the event .

Well that was a wasted journey got there at 11.40 checked bradfords twitter page and the game had just 5 minutes ago been called off. I know bradford will have tried there best to get the game on but a decision should have been made earlier. Not everyone lives locally and have to set off early to allow time to get to the ground so this would of been a wasted journey and a waste of petrol. To be fair it is the referee who would of made the call to call the game off and bradford have apologized. It will be interesting if and when they can rearrange the game.

Terry you deserve a medal in optimism to think that game would be on. Doubt even if not waterlogged you could have seen the pitch ,awful day for anywhere over 800ft. Even the dogs refused a walk today , they just looked at me as if I was daft going out.

Yes i was too optimistic thinking that the game would be on. I read the twitter feeds from both clubs and thought based on that there was a chance it could be on and add to make a call to allow time to get there it turned out to be the wrong one. The late announcement did me no favours at all.
